    Hi Robbie.

I would exerciose caution with these type of products. They are designed primarily for conventional chains (or so I believe) and not sealed unit with 'O'rings. Use of these harsh degreasers would, also in my opinion, penetrate the 'O' ring and actually flush out lubrication within the chain.

Obviously you would re-lube the chain, but any residual degreaser within the links would have the effect of diluting and weakening the new lube. There could be an argument that any degreaser will do the same, however, specific motorcycle chain cleaners such as WD 40 et al generally contain a component of lubricant within the mixture.

The absolute best cleaner and by far the cheapest is Paraffin.
Get to your local independant h/w store and pick up 5 litres for a few quid.
My local one refills a five litre bottle. Was years ago when I got the last refill and it cost a fiver

Haven't tried it but citrus is unlikely to touch tougher motorcycle chain lubes - I could be wrong though.

My method is 2 step, paraffin on a rag to get rid of the main gunk then dedicated chain spar cleaner to get it proper clean. The wax/lube then has a decent surface to cling on so no fling

I have used kerosene for 15 years (still the cheapest). It is effective but not aggressive. Smelly and you need to be careful with it on the tyre.
I recently ran out and tried white spirit.; wasn't impressed.
    Paraffin also sounds good

diesel is more refined than kerosene and more expensive. But with all the additives they put in it maybe it'll make you chain run fast?;)
