Yep. I think a lot of it is 'state of mind' also. I mean, if we really love a bike, we are prepared to put up/compromise anything - provided it doesn't detract from the riding enjoyment. I often speak of the 'cramped' riding position of my 2018 Blade, but be damned if I'd criticise it! I love the bike for what it is and does, so don't care if I'm doing a form of compressed Yoga folding as I ride.

Bloody hell, I'm even comfortable on my baby RS 50.:)

I just leave it on Mode A for track, Mode C for road, but with power set at 2 on road
the bike is running an autotune flash with wideband 02 senor from ftecu. so throttle nice and smooth.

No, I will be selling the MT-10 SP. Nothing wrong with it at all, even more hooligan after putting in the K&N air filter. I just want a sportsbike again.

Spoke to the dealer this morning, and not sure of the exact delivery date, but should arrive in time to get it run in before taking it to the TT in June - that is the plan.

Can't believe its actually happening - getting an R1 [IMG]

Further evidence of the Blade losing its appeal.

I have said this before: Honda is losing the game due to leaps of development by other manufacturers. Just look at what we got for 2019: an extra white stripe on the CBR1000RR and a 'pretend' Blade in the form of a stale 650 that seems to boast no real technology at all:(.

Hmm was thinking the same thing after just reading the ride reviews and spec on the new s1000rr. Doesn't make much difference to me as I love the older analog bikes but I can see how it may impact sales given that a lot of sports bike riders like their gadgets etc.

Great choice @Mattie660 ......I was looking at getting one before I bought my SP. I love the look of the R1 and have owned two Yamaha R6's in the past and always liked the build quality. I would have bought one over the SP if I'm honest but the 0% finance, £1000 dealer contribution, beautiful paint job and over the odds part ex value on my old bike lured me in and was too good to pass up on!!

If Yamaha did deals like that I'd have one !

What deal did you get Mattie?

I feel a bit deep shame for being on the Fireblade forum and mentioning a new R1 .

I do like the Fireblade SP Blade, but even here in the Channel Islands it is an expensive bike. Also we do not get the same deals that you guys get in the UK, because how many dealerships are there here - one if you are lucky. So cheap low mileage demo models are rare. Very often we do not even get to see these bikes until we go to the UK.

We do, however, get VAT Free. So my road ready 2019 spec R1 price is £13,995 which I will buy on three years HP. I have not even seen it yet, and only rode one new model R1 for a short spin, about 2 years ago !:D

Tell me why the choice fell on R1?
He has worthy competitors in the face of RSV4 RF, S1000RR 2019 base(!!!) and ZX10RR.

TBH, If I were in the market for a litre Sports I’d get the R1 too. I wouldn’t entertain the rest. Personal choice and all that.

Yes but not fussed mine runs a dream...what the 2019 offers is no big deal....I will keep mine this season then see what comes out next year....new r1m maybe ...new kwak...GSXR will be due a change ...Honda will have to do something surely...don't like the look of the new BMW but will have a spin on one....as for V4s don't want the drama or rip off Audi prices..

Awesome looking bike, I was looking at the Yamaha R6 in that colour scheme before I got the SP.
