i dont know if this might have been suggested before in another thread but can a BIKE OF THE MONTH section not be started then put all monthly winners head to head to choose a BIKE OF THE YEAR, i know this is nothing new just something that i realised this forum does not have, this could maybe also help dan with his competition idea
Thus was disgusted on the moderators forum as an idea for te calendar . 12 monthly winners would make a great calendar and give the winners some bragging rights First problem is that we can only host a poll of 4 or 5 options but I'm sure Rob could sort it I know bike of the month is very popular on our American rivals
Having been through the whole running a forum in a past life I think your doing a grand job I ran a forum for about 4 years and got to the point of starting to cover costs, taking on advertising and looking to get some dosh back for the hundreds I'd paid out over the previous years. Then for reasons of hassle and abuse from the members I pulled the plug However you have got a good group of guys on here, appears to be well moderated, limited or no great hassle and grief. The forum has lots of knowledgeable people and they give good input to fresh faces (like me) I don't think there is anything we really need to see this year, but keep things moving at your pace, if you see a forum mod you like, go for it ... if you find a way to re-coup some money without changing the forum in a huge way for users, do it Have a look in some of the big magazines for companies that advertise Honda stuff and approach them ... don't be shy it gets you nowhere .... and if you get a few sponsers and find an add on for the site that means they can see the stats and edit there own ad even better ... Have a look at your hosting, see if there is anything you can do to reduce it ... have a look at reviews and deals on webhostingtalk's forum Sorry if there's a granny and sucking eggs thing going on! Mine said that too. Made a donation a couple of weeks ago. All for a good cause though. A forum like this is hard to find.
Yeah hard to find .. I joined a C2 forum shen bought my car which i very disappointed in. I put effort into a good intro thread when i joined and got 2 replies !! I post questions for help and get no replies !! I couldn't see the for sale section even after 500 posts so i asked and i had to pay £15.00 for full membership . Paid it and its bloody empty !! at least i got a forum sticker for my full membership ey ... Bloody peeled of after 3 months ha ha
That's because you drive too bloody fast. Araldite wouldn't hold it. I think we could all chip in for a better spell checker for the moderators. 'pet similar' and 'thus was disgusted' indeed... And I think we should have an anthem or a theme tune. I vote for the 'scooter scooter' song.
