i Have seen this on another group and must admit I really like it and thinking of getting it done, partly because it’s so different.
Any thoughts on if it works or I’m missing anything?

Very much like the Repsol of the Doohan era in the 1990s.

although not really a repsol fan i really like this one, also liking the shade of gold on the wheels which i think are subtle, just does it work on the newer more angular shape bike?

Looks old but not retro and in my humble opinion has not aged well. But what do I know.

It is in the eye of the owner.

I'm a firm believer in "it's your bike, do what YOU like with it" unless it's something very classic/special that shouldn't be fucked with.

I think it looks good and like what Raphael said the gold is subtle and makes it work even more
But it is you who has to live with it.

I like the old Doohan Crivillé Repsol, I'm not sure about goldy silverish blingy wheels though.......gotta be orange!;)

True. They were a bit more understated then with black (or technically the darkest blue ever seen!) the dominant colour. I've seen that Auctmarts does a few Repsol variations, but the very dark ones seem to be limited to the 04 - 07 models.

I would be hestitant, Raph, because we have less fairing area than earlier models. This was pointed out to me by @Lozzy when I was wondering about doing a RC213V job (the one with the big red circle) on mine. It just loses the effect.

Anyway, what's the go with you talking about fairings. You only just put on the 'Legends'. If you change, then I'll have to do a 'keeping up with the Joneses' and turn my Castrol into a Rothmans!!:D

Ahhhh can’t go wrong with the rothmans! Now that is a nice paint scheme.
As much as I like the tt legends Nigel this just caught my eye as something completely different.

I think that looks great. Had a cbr400 in those colours, big doohan fan as a kid but went for criville no 3 plate on mine, thought id look a knob on track with a no 1 on.

I like the gold wheels tbh

A wraps a waste of money in my opinion, if you get a wrap and you get bored of it.........you rip it off and throw it in the bin.

If you get fairings or paint job they're re-sellable and you're gonna get some of your money back ;)
