Yes, @bazzashadow . We can turn on or off or up or down only via the modes settings on the dash. Here I refer to the SP and SP2. I assume if one buys the 'optional' quickshifter for their standard Blade, they will have the same selectability as those with the factory-installed version.

I point out again that I've experienced no probs at all with false neutrals in either up or down QS mode or even with clutch changing.

Ditto, had no issues with my factory installed qs on my 2017 model blade apart from the odd neutral from 1st to 2nd when the bike is cold. Not had any issues otherwise and the bike is now approaching 10,000 miles..

I think Mr Shell is also enjoying it as I visit every 3rd day - only getting about 120 miles from a full tank of Shell V-Power (although most of my miles are commuting into / back out of London).. Love the bike, and couldn’t live without the QS.

Interesting. I must have a much more passive riding style. I'll get 150 - 160 before fuel light. (Most A & B road country riding though)

I would kill for 150-160. I'm the same at max 120 before fuel light.

Mostly in mode 2.. I think mode 1 would be unwise for me on the public roads.. Also most of my riding is commuting from Kent to central London. I found mode 3 really bad for fuel consumption.

No issues here either on an SP. 2018 bike registered in March this year and total of 6k miles. Mostly road miles but with one hard track day too! One incident of false neutral from 2nd to 1st but that was user error - too soft down pressure on the lever. Also had the - display a few times shifting up through the box 4th to 5th or 5th to 6th. Again have put it down to user error as happens when rapidly short shifting up into top and caused by not properly releasing pressure on the lever before trying to shift again. Bike engages next gear but display will not read correct gear until throttle is completely closed and then reapplied.

Guess I say it like it is, Raph. I am not one for consistent red line gear changes, but I still give my bikes a good handful to the point of simply knowing that sooner or later I'll be done for 'Exceed 60 mph' by a huge margin.

I do no commuting work at all though, and wonder if that might contribute to the higher return because both my 2011 and 2018 will return 160 before fuel light. Another factor is the significant fuel improvement (15 - 20 miles before fuel light) I noticed after switching from regular unleaded to premium.

My 2013 has no qs but when I got it at 700 miles I has issues with false neutrals going up mainly 4 to 5 or 5 to 6. If you then tried to force it in you thought the gearbox was going to smash. you had to coast to nearly standstill, This was really bad if overtaking. I still get it a few times feeling like it has not gone fully in and you get a click on the clutch lever, I have never had a bike with such a bad gearbox. It is now at 8k and I don't know if it has improved slightly or I force it in a lot harder. I am careful where I change up. On my R1 I never even thought about the gears

That doesn't sound like a typical blade gearbox - I've owned 4 blades and had no issues with false neutrals / engaging gears. Maybe a daft question, but is the chain tension set correctly?

Given the redline on a blade these days in 1st gear is 100MPH+ I’m not surprised..
