Ah, the '16 SP has no accommodations for a pillion or the foot pegs that go with that whole bothersome mess.

Ah, well I might see what they look like when they turn up, otherwise i’ll Send them back. I don’t really do mods to my bikes, so this is quite a milestone for me.

    Another R&G item
I’d get your money back if I’m honest! Bit of a piss take on R&G’s part selling something that isn’t needed

I’ll wait and see what they’re like when they arrive. I’ve now learnt thanks to replies here that it’s not essential to have these but hey ho!

You're right, they're not essential, BUT they add a finishing touch!;)

If you like them that’s all that matters

Ah well, M&P Direct have let me down - they've cancelled the order due to a "stocking error".. Upon reflection, I think I've just saved myself £40, so if I remove my rear footrests, I might go for @nigelrb's suggestion of using those plastic trim clips to plug the holes..

I’d use the £40 you saved and put that towards getting your suspension set up! Best and cheapest upgrade you'll ever do

Most of my riding is commuting from Kent to central London.. I can't imagine I'm going to benefit - but I would like to get it set up (and then restored) for my upcoming Brands Hatch track day next Thurs.. That said, I don't think I'm a skillful enough of a rider to be looking at fine tuning the bike, I think my brain (and body) needs some serious tuning first!

You will honestly feel so much difference in the suspension set up. Even commuting.

Really? I'd thought that suspension settings are particular to each riding environment (track, country lanes, fast road, commuting, etc.). So you're suggesting there's a better suspension setup for "general all round riding"? If you say yes, you know I'm going to ask for a recommendation of a company to approach to do it :) (and an idea of cost).

Oh and I've now removed the rear foot rests, and stuck some plastic car trim plugs in the wholes. Quite pleased with the look. Hopefully no-one's going to tell me that they were structural and I need to put bolts back in instead of plastic plugs!

No but spray some white grease up the holes to stop the threads going rusty

A simple solution that looks great and costs pennies:

Huh? Where you been. Already done and dusted. Good pic though to help illustrate the finished look!;)
