I want to put a full race seat unit on my bike this winter but don’t really know what parts I need?
I will be keeping the bike as a road bike aswell so will need to keep/put a rear light. If possible? Does this just go over the original subframe or do I need something different?
Any tips/advice would be much appreciated

    Cheers

Not sure on the blade, but on my GSXR track bike, it was a new subframe and battery box. No accommodation for a tail light on the unit I have.

You will prob need a seat plate with the mounts built in if you use the standard subframe as you won't be able to use the standard seat if its a full race tail section. not sure if you can get ones that you can use the standard seat with.

you'd then have to check it clears the standard subframe ok and prob cut out a hole for the rear light, as the standard light mounts to the subframe. I've got a race tail section in the garage so I'll see if it goes over the standard subframe ok if you like as I'm swapping my fairings this weekend. you'd then have to sort a mount for the number plate and indicators etc, or go with an integrated tail light. If you go with a race subframe you have to sort a different solution for rear light etc.

There are race tails which allow you to keep the standard seat and use original subframe, but you’d need a different tail light for running and stop plus indicators, similar to the led strips I run

Hi mate, I tried the couple I’ve got and you can get them to fit on standard subframe, but might need a bit of tweaking to look good, you have to remove the under tray piece and lock mechanism.

The 2011 looks like it would fit with a seat plate, but looked a bit naff where it meets the tank, no idea what make it is as it came as a spare with my bike.

Mines a 2011, but the 2012-2016 one fits the standard subframe, it looks ok with its matching tank but didn’t fit very well with a standard 2011 tank. The front and rear holes line up ok but the middle ones would need a some kind of bracket or holes tapping into the subframe. Couldn’t see if they fit with standard rear light as they’ve not got cut outs.

    Hi mate,
Thanks for the effort and pictures, much appreciated.
As I’m using a full race cover it may well close the gap between the seat and the tank?
    Cheers
