hi all, I’m originally from the UK but been living in the US for the past 10 years. I used to race TZs back in the 70s and 80s with Joey, Ron Haslam and young Foggy. Anyway, had a few classic bikes but the clipons keep dragging me back and I just bought a NOS 05 Repsol. (Pic is from the dealers. Not my house) Will arrive this week. I’m not one for keeping a zero mile bike in the lounge at home - I’m going to rag the ass off it! I usually go over the top on mods but for this bike I just bought a Ladybird Ti can and link pipe from Japan and PCV. I just joined the Ducati UK Forum and they a friendly bunch. Looks like the same here!
Hi and welcome What a fantastic pick up and great you're going to have some proper fun on it....enjoy
Amazing!! Whereabouts in the states are you? How did you manage to find a NOS RR5 (beautiful btw)? Seems like an incredible thing for someone to have held onto for 14 years!
I am in Minneapolis. I bought the bike from Adam at Iconic Motorbikes in LA. Top guy. He has another zero mile 07 Repsol coming in, plus 30 other zero mile bikes, including a zero mile NR750 he just bought
Hi, and welcome. What a pick up! This is like the stories we heard as kids and teens of ex-army WLA Harleys being found in dealers and in garden sheds. Friggin' amazing. To be expected by most members here, I have the opposite opinion and believe it's a shame to use it. But also, I am a firm believer in 'each to their own'; we all have our own methods of enjoyment. Would be interested to learn what sort of price the NR commands. Over here the rare few seem to fetch £65 - 70,000 (US$78,000)
Hello and welcome, nice one no point buying it just to look at it. Use it and abuse it, well that’s what I’d be doing.
Thanks Nigel. TBH I won’t do a lot of miles and I will keep it mint. A rough NR sold for $100K here so this will go much higher.
Wow Mr. Spy. That is the most amazing and uncanny response I could expect!! I fly out from Birmingham at 2140 next Wednesday headed for Dubai (7.45 hrs flight) Any tips? I am particularly interested in the 'plastic' lifestyle and artificialness of the place. To use one of my TV analogies, perhaps it's a bit Kardashian-esque. We used to have a member living there, @Hashlak , but haven't heard from him for a couple of months.
I think it'll be the old 'mate of a mate'!! Maybe as previously alluded to; Honda distributor's unsold and unmoved stock. But as a commercial decision, why tie up so much money is beyond me.
Hi and welcome to the forum! Great find you got yourself there, some nice machines in the background too, in particular the 155 Ben Bostrom Rep
