Whatever is on the playlist , ,,,, blues and rock ,,,,, AC/DC the Bon Scott years inspires me ,,,, big Foo Fighters fan aswell as for the trainers hahaha there was someone off the forum in the audience and they stayed till the end
There is some real musical talent in that film - people who can really play. Another genre that takes some skill is Ska music - saxophone players, all kinds of skill needed to make a decent Ska band as well.
Leave Marks trainers alone....they're cool Just because you're all still in winklepickers at the Little Naaarfoork Interbred Social Club
Only just found this old thread and reading through it. I'm a runner too - did 2hr58 in Paris this year. Was a bit worried I wasn't going to run as I'd binned it at on a track day at Bedford 3 weeks earlier and bruised my hip. Was painful to walk but somehow running was OK! As a result I've got a good for age place in London next year. Would love to do 2hr55 but I am well aware of just how hard those 3 minutes are to find!! It's the training that's brutal if you're going to be absolutely maxing yourself out like that - the absolute dedication for 4 months beforehand, 6 days a week gobbling all your free time. So I've yet to decide whether I'm going to go for it in London or not yet. Otherwise, classic cars, mountain biking, skiing. Would love to skydive but not had the chance yet. Did do a few bungee jumps in NZ back in the day though. Pic is from my first marathon in Brighton in 2017 (finished in 3h04 - the pain at the end here was horrendous).
Hats of to you mate that is some serious running and training. I've been trying to do the C25K got as far as running 2 miles then got sidetracked and need to start all over again. That 2 miles nearly killed me (but strangely felt good) so running a marathon is in my book a huge achievement let alone running it fast!
"Running" a marathon is easy - it is running it quickly that is the hard part Well done on your sub-3hr time !
I’ve done London a couple of times and you def should do it just for the atmosphere the whole way round. Totally agree with you on the brutality of the training required if you are trying to get a decent time! Nowadays I have a much less stressful 2nd hobby.
Some Marathons are better than others for getting a good finish time - Paris is a generally quick one, as is Berlin and Chicago - Dubai if you want to travel that far. I found that some of these courses - like Berlin and even Dubai - there is no that much to see and so getting your head down for a quick time is what it is all about. Not done London but did New York - a real waste of an experience if you try and run that one quickly - it is amazing. The scenery, the atmosphere - just really enjoy the whole thing - do the fast times at some flat course somewhere else. My best was Paris - 3hrs 01.
Been playing a guitar since I was 8 and love it, keyboards a few years later (don’t play much tho), and started learning sax a few years back and also enjoy playing bass. Don’t mind doing a bit of woodwork and a bit of building when the mood takes me, I enjoy welding and have restored a few motors and currently have a 1973 Type2 camper in the process in the garage, been there for 8 years!
I fly remote controlled aeroplanes and helicopters and go fishing and quite a bit of walking, all out doors that are weather dependant.I need some indoor hobbies for bad days, Me and the cats are glued to the windows on rainy days with cabin fever
My mate used to fly model helicopters, he was always fetching bits in to work for repair. Think it used to cost him a fortune!
We do a fair bit of walking - usually get up to the Lakes 3 or 4 times a year for some pike bagging. Wild weather just adds to the fun!
