My bike was registered in 2015 but is the 2014 RR-E model. It now has 4900 miles on it.
My query to the resident experts is should I change the plugs or not? It runs perfectly, and the service schedule is 4 years / 16,000 miles if I remember correctly.
Whats the general consensus on doing them as a matter of course?
    Any input welcome
    Cheers

Should be no need. Take them out and have a look to check them if you like but I wouldn't bother.

    Thanks mate.
I am leaning on taking them out and just making sure they don't have any corrosion against the head.

Honda Schedule is 'I'nspect at 16k miles and 'R'eplace at 32k miles. I am not aware of a time limit?

Both of mine didn't need doing until 13 & 16k and even that was because at 13k it had a hard life and started spluttering.
Plus it's 4 hours of your life that you'll never get back.

Wouldn’t bother unless you’re in amongst it and want to give them a visual check while you’re at it.

I would not even look at them, just get out there and ride it!

It's been said already, inspect at 16k, change at 32k, even then you won't see much wear.

Thank you folks, I like the idea of just waiting. It does seem like a big faff to get in about there for no real benefit. Appreciate the replies :)

As long as your bike is used 'normally' - i.e. always ran up to operating temperature & is not using oil, the iridium plugs will last for ages. Even lesser (platinum) plugs used in cars last for 60k miles. If you've got no starting or running problems, I'd leave them alone mate.

I changed my plugs for iridium when my RR7 nudged 16k (and age 12) recently - hadn't thought there was an issue before but the bike definitely picked up better on the new ones.

    But for a 2014 with 5k miles - I wouldn't worry about it. They'll be fine.

Even mine at 16k and 12 years were 'fine' - if I didn't know my bike so well I wouldn't have noticed the difference to the new ones.
