Picked it up in a sprinter van, the van drove really well with the bike in the back although hairpins were taken considerably carefully as not want the bike to fall over, springs were a little bit soft for my liking but overall we got home £65 worth of fuel for the 320mile trip :p:p:p

Such a sweet bike these are:). Looks nice with the Akra and it £140 carbon hangar. Friggin' rip off they are:rolleyes:. I'm guessing it sounds a bit louder than std.

Good that you're up and running on it at last - except the bit where you've just lost a few grand after leaving the dealership:(. That's the price we pay for enjoyment and exclusivity - although to continue my negative vein on these bikes, no one really wants one. Big plus for us is that they do not realise what they're missing out on!:D

It will be the same N with that 765 .........with the sp as Long as you've got a good GFV value ...plus when the new Honda comes out dealers will work the figures to get us onboard...anything new loses ££ the higher you go the more you lose I've lost £££ on cars over the yrs.....we're only here once so I spend it...

True, Woz. I fully expect the 'lose a few grand as you drive out of the dealership' money drain. But I don't have GFVs or PCPs. Pay cash for mine so probably take a harder hit than those who finance. And what a hard hit it's been on the SP2.

Not complaining of course, I love the bike, but it's still depressing to see such a price fall over 18 months, especially as one dealer has a brand newy up for seventeen grand:(.

But that is pre-reg on a 67 plate nigelrb, so effectively 2 years old. I personally feel I got a cracking deal on the SP2 which is a 69 plate, the rear cowl has a build date of late August last year. So at least I know it's a year old at most.

Mind you the only bike I've never lost money on was a BMW S1000rr Tyco race rep paid £20k got £20k when I got rid with 1200 miles, full refund from dealer after it was cleaned with neat RTF:eek: ..

Yeah, that caught my eye too. I thought I had one of the very early 'J' models (distinguished by the 'red' Honda on the belly pan - 'H' model of 2017 was blue) which I purchased in March 2018. Mine sent straight onto a reserved private 'HRC' plate.

In my view this particular dealer should have registered the bike on a '18' plate - or NOT registered it at all. The fact remains, as you point out, that the bike 'looks to be' 2 years' old, when in fact it might be only 18 months, BUT still a brand new bike. It sure does represent excellent value given that it's more than 5K cheaper than original. Problem is now though, with a great range of performance bikes on offer, particularly the R1-M and S1000RR I think the Honda would fall a long way behind for many people. On the other side, it could work out very well on a PCP deal.

Perhaps the Honda does not require luck, but many people do. It's all in how you look at it Nige.
