Hi all My beautiful 08 blade has caught the dreaded crank virus and is basically filed under F. The engine has been running beautifully all year and has never missed a beat but did drink a little oil it’s only covered 19k and was serviced regularly with good quality oil and oem filters. The question I got is do I buy a newer engine from a 12 upwards which have no crank issues that I’m aware of or do I get a second hand crank and rebuild my motor. If I did buy a newer motor is it worth me rebuilding my motor to sell on. Any advice people much appreciated.
Mine went under warranty . 2010 model. Dealer said it wouldn't affect reliability so could keep riding no issues . The noise is only really noticeable under engine breaking on closed throttle.. If it doesn't trouble you keep riding ...
