Thought it might be fun to start a poll for forum idiot.

No doubt we’ve all done stuff on bikes that we thought made us the king/queen of bikes before but in hindsight made us look like f***ing idiots.

I’ll start with my many stories....

    At 16 on my RS50 I...

tried to get my knee down
Used to stand up with no hands a lot
Almost lost it in the rain countless times
Tried to ride in the snow (had to get to work) and got stuck.

    At 21 on my TL1000R I...

Got my knee down in a Tesco car park
Wet roundabouts meant knee down too.

175mph on a busy Sunday afternoon

Almost lost the front end at 120ish

At 27 on my Street Triple I...

wheelied past an unmarked police car at 80mph in a 40 zone (literally never s**t my pants so much when the blues came on - was a very lucky boy that day)

maxxed it out at 142mph then saw a speed trap (managed to get it back down considerably)

    May 29 on my RR7 I....

went past an unmarked cop at 45 in a 30, didn’t realise and pinned it at a 60mph limit, only for the copper to catch us after I’d just seen 130mph. Got a tug and me and my mate sat there with our illegal plates and he was telling the copper he wasn’t speeding just had an illegal exhaust...o_O

    Your turn :p:D

tried to jump over a garden shed on the most rickety ramp ever on a Honda C90 didn't end well but what a spectacular crash:eek:
Me and my mates blasting past an army convoy on the A1 well into three figures and right at the front was a marked Police car, pulled into the services at Scotch Corner and pretended to get fuel, said Police car up behind me first words were "now then Captain Kirk where's the Starship Enterprise off to?" at this point were all thinking thinking were going to get proper nailed "do not ride like that on my road" was the next line, now me being a cheeky 18 year old I replied "its not your road officer its the tax payers road" to which he said "when im giving you a bollocking for speeding its MY road" ,fair point and took the lecture from him lucky lucky escape.

GT250 circa 1980, me, cool as you like pulls up at a bus stop full of gurls, kicks side stand down, drops bike onto stand without checking if it's directly above a drain cover & spends the next 5 mns trying to get the bike upright & the stand out from the drain cover :-(

Most of my early bikes were offroad. I was pillion once on a scrambler, came off the back on some bumps and still in the same position I ended up sitting on the rear wheel. Let me tell you, having your stones rubbed with a nobbly tyre for a few hundred yards was no fun till my mate locked up the back wheel and stopped the thing!!
I'm not writing anything about the jam sandwich that crashed after I escaped through some bollards one time...that might be incriminating  and I don't think they would have been that impressed if they had ever caught up...

Very similar story with my first crosser at 9 years old, took my mate on the back and over a violent bump he fell on to the rear wheel! Few weeks later the bike met an unfortunate end due to a fuel line slipping off and an intermittent misfire...

I once pulled a wheelie on a full dress Police BMW and got snapped (unintentionally) by a press photographer which was then seen by my boss .

There is a story behind why I did it which I won't go into at this stage.

165 in a 55..busted, impounded, arrested, court and a $5000 lawyer got it to a $5000 fine and a misdemeanor. Nothing on my record now as the misdemeanor dropped off 6 months later contingent on the fact that I stay out of trouble during that time.

That almost ended my career. I then fell in love with track days..lol

The only really dumb thing I've done (and I don't know if you'd class a quad as a bike) was to jump aboard a quad bike at my mate's farm in Norway after a substantial session on the drink in Stavanger. We decided that it would be good to see how fast we could do laps around the property. Being a biker amongst non-bikers I decided that I HAD to post the quickest time. Last thing I remember was sliding around a corner with the back end hanging out and then supermanning through the air before landing in said field.

I waited with gritted teeth for the quad to roll over me but thankfully it didn't.

Stood up and realised something was up with my shoulder. Couldn't move it properly. Dislocation. Hospital. General anaesthetic. Lots of pain. Holiday over. Norwegian hospital bill etc. etc.

    You can't be serious?

After the bollocking @T.C. got some weeks ago over an 'admission' I'm surprised he didn't 'do a Nigel'.:D

It generally works well, I've found. I think the main problem is that some points can sound 'harsh' when the intention was not. Written communication of course misses the benefits of verbal's facial expressions and body language. For the few members with a sarcastic trait, that can both present problems AND backfire.

    Tell me about it mate.
I'm in a position where I need to be PC 110% of the time but I am anything but. Even though I am not racist or really any kind of -"ist" I find very often that both feet are in my mouth and have said something that is frowned upon, even when the intention is totally pure. That is with the benefit of verbal and facial interactions so I can only imagine how some may take my written word. Once people get used to me then generally they accept, - it's that "fruit and nut" let him be
From force of habit outside a work perspective I will tend to add haha to the end of a message to lighten its impact in the absence of the physical interaction (but it's not always meant) ahahaha ;)
I am noting a few 'characters' on here already in the short time I've been a member and one glaring observation is the helpfulness which is truly first class :D:D:D

Not this time, this one had four wheels and no blue lights, either visible or hidden!
