Don't think so, people are getting a lot newer ones done than mine, Lozzy's bike is a 2016

Well following on from this thread and because of the lack of any tuners within a few hundred miles of my Dark Side of the Moon location, I sent an email to Hilltop for some info and guidance.
They offer a 'post in' service that gives you pretty much everything an actual visit gives with the exception of the before and after dyno runs. The software codes they install are standard for your model with only some tweaks done if customers have specific requirements (more for race / track), so with all the positive feedback across the forum threads I will have mine wheeped out when I get home and off to them sharpish :D:D:D

    ^^^

Not sure if that facility is used much here, but some of the USA guys swear by it.;)

The only down side is that such 'remote' settings assume that all is spot on with the bike, so as you rightfully point out any small 'glitch' might not be resolved without a dyno run.

Thanks @nigelrb I'm pretty confident in my bike not having glitches, but it is a bit lumpy? and snatchy at low revs trying to feed in the power from a closed throttle position so I'm ever hopeful that this will iron that out :)

They can be - especially after fitting an aftermarket exhaust. In the 'olden days':) we'd just UP the jet size 10%, but now one has to pay upwards of £300 for a remap!

I'm confident Hilltop's tweaking will give you the results you expect.

Would you mind sharing the cost of this service? Might be of interest to others;).

No probs, they have said it will be £300 which includes VAT, and their return postage is £12

@LRJimmy have a chat with @Lozzy. She had a Hilltop remap and I don't think she was overly impressed. Also seen comments on another forum about them, and Lambchops who used to be on here alluded to something about them in a recentish video he did on youtube.

I was thinking of using them but am holding off and will either go PC5 or Woolwich when the funds permit.

    Thanks @Barstewardsquad
I have a wee while before I'm back in Blighty so not in a real rush as Summer is a long way from us now ;)
I will see what our intrepid @Lozzy has to say on the matter when her ladyship responds :D but I was basing my assumption on them being decent based on her earlier post when she used them last year.

From everything I've read I also think the Hilltop "remap" is nothing more than a con.

    Thanks for the feedback @Voleracing
Did they give you a before and after dyno? Their literature states their programming piggy-backs the OEM's and is undetectable but surely if there was a gain in performance you would feel it when riding?
    Cheers

Kudos to you for pursuing this. I am never silent on service standards of any type and fully agree and support your pursuing to Trading Standards.

Too many traders/business escape scrutiny because unsatisfied customers either can't be bothered or are too ill-equipped to pursue.

Hi yes before and after graph... But can be manipulated by the Dyno operator . Apparently !!

You get a 21 day money back Guaranty but because i had the flash done at the end of riding season it was several months before riding on track again..

No difference in performance was noticeable.

Took my bike Yamaha R1m to RRP in Coventry . It made 166 bhp and told no work has been done to my ECU !

Facebook group set up to gather evidence against Hilltop .. Read more here ... https://www.facebook.com/Treetoptuning/

Dear F'ing God, thats some reading on the FB page @Voleracing WFT???
Looks like you saved me £312 straight off the bat!!! I will be very interested to see what @Lozzy says as she said in her post that it was like a totally different bike???

I would figure that Hilltop over inflated the tyres, thereby decreasing the rolling resistance which would be recognised by @Lozzy as a performance increase.

Of course, I could be way off the mark here.:D;)

There are plenty around suggesting that he might be doing a reset on the learning side of the ECU by leaving batt disconnected or idling the bike for a certain amount of time. Think the theory is the bike will revert to being rich once this reset has been done giving a fuller throttle for a while until the bike has leaned itself back off as it adjusted to O2 sensors etc.

I don't know what to make of this now.
Having read a bit of the Facebook posts and arguments back and forth it could be rivalry between 2 firms or they could all be charlatans?
Can anyone recommend somewhere from personal experience that does actually know what they are doing and can do a flash by postal service? :D:D
