    We’ve all had them!

One (or more) bike(s) you have regretted buying?

Mine is a 2009 Bandit 650, nothing ‘wrong’ with it but it just didn’t excite me. I bought it to tone down my riding and do more touring etc but quickly realised I wasn’t ready to settle down so much after my TL1000R.

    what’s yours?

Similarly it would be interesting to hear about the ones you let go but wish you hadn’t.

oh hindsight, such a wonderful thing!

My second cbr600f. Just didn't gel with it the same as I did with my first, so much so I barely put any mods in it.

No buying regrets...... But I do regret trading in my Aprilia RS250 gp replica. Such a beautiful bike and in the condition mine was in, worth a few quid. GUTTED:rolleyes:

I have always regretted the first bike I brought after passing my test, the Suzuki GT380 back in 1976

What a pile of poo it was. Middle pot kept seizing, awful ground clearance, dodgy electrics and it was less than a year old. Looked the dogs danglies for the time, but after riding the likes of RD250's, GT250's and KH250's, this was a big disappointment. Even the Honda 250G5 was a better bike and that was a real pile of crap.

Strangely, I foud the receipt for the insurance on that the other day. 12 months TPF&T, I paid £16 which was actually a lot of money at the time, but by the time I was 21 it was around £25 for the year on a 750.

It was the 380 that probably converted me to 4 strokes as my next bike was the Honda 500/4 which I loved

I regret trading in my 2003 Cbr600rr for a new blade back in November 2009. Very glad I got the blade (still got it and love it) but I had some great times on the 600 (I rode much faster then and used to lay it on its side and wear away the foot pegs - now I'm such a dawdler!) and I only got £2500 for trade in, so I should have still bought the blade but not traded in the 600. Saw my very same old 600 for sale nearby in 2016 for £3500, so it appreciated in value too!

I regret my recent sale of the little aprilia RS50. Total brain fade.

Was more of a 'toy' than a bike, but just one of those visually appealing relics.:(

I really regret ever selling my Honda CB900 F2B

Loved that bike. Did 140,000 + miles on it then some tosser rode into the side of me and wrote it off. To this day I regret not buying back the salvage and rebuilding it, but given that I got the same money as I paid for it all those miles before, it allowed me to buy my CBX750 new.

The 900 was the first bike I had with a decent fairing, good mirrors, comfy riding position and easy to work on.

Not the fastest with a top speed of around 130, but plenty quick enough for most situations.

If I was still able to ride, I would have another in a heartbeat if I could find a decent one.

My Blackbirds were brilliant and I loved all 3 I owned, I enjoyed my VF1000R and GSXR1100WP, but there was just something about the 900 that made it my favourite, and I have had a few bikes I have really liked/enjoyed.

A mate had one of them, and his brother would keep borrowing it for trips to Europe ! Seeing that bike always reminds me of them.
