That's the simplest option, but I doubt I'd be able to get around the 3800 mark for it. Too late for eBay now as all the winter scavengers are trawling. I'll suss a price range at my dealer tomorrow, but I might have to re-list on eBay in February. (I did have a couple of non-attenders for viewing at £3800, which I thought was a more than reasonable price.)

Bargain for somebody. Would love it myself but I've filled my space up with an old VFR, and same as you couldn't sell it quickly at this time of year for what it owes me.

Well there's not much in it looks wise for me, the new model has not changed enough to make me get excited about it more than what I've already got! Plus the new ones too small.....so I've got two years love affair left with this beauty then I'm off ;) great paint job by the way Mr Honda :) Screenshot_20191107_225725.jpg

I want one and like you Nige I don’t give a hoot about early teething problems. If the SP is under £22k I will look at various ways (legal and not selling my ass) I can finance one.

Also, the top view (from the comparison video) shows the fairing as much bigger in terms of width...size of it looks just like my 2001 GSXR

I quite like that more bulky look tbh probably because I'm tall. The 17+ sp feels really tiny when I sit on it....don't get that feeling with the R1M.
Think it's hard to judge on photos...looking forward to getting a bounce around on it at the NEC...:)

At 6' 2" I like a bigger bike - much like @PauloHRC has been bangin' on about - I'd feel like I was on a minimoto on the new one

Yeah, I guess that must weigh in as a major consideration for you 6-foot-plus guys.

I just don't know how I would cope if I had an extra five inches.;)

Wow... you can really see how much lower the tank sits on the comparison pictures! I'd seen it somewhere saying it was least 45mm lower than the outgoing shape.... Though someone mentioned 5mm. Not sure you would even notice that little amount. But definitely looks considerably lower in the pictures. Think it's going to feel more like your sat on it rather than in it!...This might not suit some riders? I personally think its going to feel really extreme for taller riders and not very ergonomic.... Even at 5 9" The Pani feels so narrow and compact Vs the big fours. But it works for me. I love getting all tucked in and prone. Pretty sure the new Blade will be the same..

Rock on.... Its about time they got more focused and extreme....

Agree. But there are still 2018 SPs and SP2s hanging around. These will of course be hit hard because no one will want them unless they are severely discounted. But then, like we have previously spoken, the whole model range depreciates.

Our USA friend and also member here, @RC45 , runs a thread on the USA forum, recording sales/location of SP2s. Here we are now, 18 months beyond the release of the 2018 'J' model SP2 and there remain at least 19 unsold in USA alone!!
    https://www.1000rr.net/forums/1000rr-general-discussion/241209-2017-sp2-delivery-thread-37.html

Similarly, an eBay check here shows 4 or 5 brand newies available.

I guess everything sells eventually, but yes, nozdog, there'll be a few good bargains going!!
