I recall Amazon being hauled over the coals for that some months (or a year?) back. Apparently it's all too common with them.

Yes, quite possibly. But then there's the case of 'shrinkage' which can happen during present climatic conditions:D:D.

you would think they would use the smallest packaging available, surely more packaging = more money?

you can go and have a look round one of their distribution centres; I’m sure it’s riveting...

you couldn’t even drive into a high street for that!

Big bug bear of mine at the minute (I know I’m a grumpy old git) went into my local big city last week (Cambridge) had an hour and a half of browsing the shops with my little girl. Come back to the car park, stuck the ticket in the machine and it cost... £6:eek: how in the world can they charge that?! There’s all this spout of the internet killing the high street but in all honesty, car park fees are! I could sit in my pants at home and buy anything I want and pay less for it to be delivered than the bloody parking would cost if I went and picked it up, how does that work?o_O

Amazon have a long way to go to catch up with the old HP packing sizes. Have a google and wonder in amazement of pictures on memory dimms delivered on a pallet etc.

Now on the delivery side Amazon have amost sink to Yodel level so just be glad it turned up in a package that hadn't been used as a football.
