Hey everyone ^_^ finally found some time between riding and restoring all the classic bikes to get out on my Blade and scrub the new tyres in a bit. My daily rider this year has been my 1967 Norton 650SS in all weathers. Decided to head out towards Matlock starting at the Cat and Fiddle an see how far we could get to say it was wet and cold was an epic understatement. By the time we made it to Matlock after the washed out roads the road closed signs were out so we spun it an headed back towards Monyash for a quick break. Had a slight issue throughout the ride as she needs a new battery so had to bump start her a few times! Here's a video clip of the ride ^_^ edited on my ancient mac the wind was far to bad to use most of the audio is a few bits in the video though an where we are stopped later on where you can hear the bike. Hope you all enjoy. 73238402_10220288172058875_8876077236088733696_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 74614778_10220288174258930_8361672533509931008_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 76960695_10220288172698891_702713330309005312_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 75478483_10220288177939022_8170166349872496640_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 74687750_10220280492746897_7152681652487979008_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 74344335_10220280495266960_8242170411438047232_o by norton.rider, on Flickr 74612967_10220280491266860_3166637588719075328_o by norton.rider, on Flickr
Looks like a good run mate, albeit wet and cold! I have to say that last picture is doing nothing for my OCD Have you done any threads regarding any of your rebuilds at all?
Hi mate I havn't on here I can get some posted if everyone would like. Just finished a rd250c, Norton 650SS and half way through rebuilding a 1968 Norton Villiers Commando is a few videos of the rides on the Norton's an the work I've done on the youtube channel
I’d certainly find it to interesting mate and I’m certain other members would too, if you get time of course!
I'll get some up at some point mate an yeah the blade did start the day out spotless lmao took ages to get her clean afterwards. Gonna pop the calipers off tomorrow an clean the pistons.
Well today was quite the adventure ha decided to go out on the fireblade an to Matlock again while I waited for a few bits on the 650ss. Got a lil bit away from home an decided to stop for fuel... hit the starter nothing few people stopped trying to help me bump it Alas the pump wasnt priming so didn't have much of a chance. Incase the racer who stopped an tried his boost pack an the gal who gave me a push are on here thank you!!! Gave the bike an epic up hill push into a tesco car park on my jack then phoned dad to go collect a main fuse an new battery from hunts luckily they had one in 20191118_143418-01 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191118_143400-01 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191118_143522-02 by norton.rider, on Flickr Sat eating walkers finest an drinking a cola freezing for a few hours waiting for the ol man haha 20191118_152241-02 by norton.rider, on Flickr New battery fitted 20191118_154746-01 by norton.rider, on Flickr Success she fired right up with the bits must admit all the miles I've clocked trouble free an I break down on the blade haha the irony in that gotta love a kickstarter. Itching to get back out on the blade had a brilliant ride back. Although I froze an saw a really cool sunset. Always days like this you remember. 20191118_154816-01 by norton.rider, on Flickr
Video will be coming soon Decided to head out again today on the Blade with the aim of getting to Matlock last time I went dad an I had to turn round at the road closed sign, So second time's the charm and all that I headed off over the Cat and Fiddle when I got to the top I actually spun it because my hands were killing then decided after a few bends to pull up get warm an give it another shot. So I cracked on luckily once I dropped down into Buxton and onto the a515 the pea soup conditions were left behind on the Cat an Fiddle. Decided to take the Cromford road to Matlock which was still flooding out in places and gravel down most of the road on the centre line so after picking my way through that I arrived into Matlock. Time for some chips! Once I got of the bike at first I thought my rad had just gone but quickly realised it was the flooded out bit at the top of Matlock that I'd rode through that had flicked up onto the rad an into the fairing. 20191121_122435 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_122414 by norton.rider, on Flickr At this point my hands were quite sore still hence the sorta happy face haha! 20191121_123323-Edit-1-Edit-2-Edit by norton.rider, on Flickr Chips make everything better! 20191121_122836 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_124705 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_124652 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_124657 by norton.rider, on Flickr Useless at selfies haha so decided to encourage myself for the ride back with a couple of thumbs up! 20191121_124606 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_124619-Edit by norton.rider, on Flickr
Decided to go back through Bakewell and drop onto the Cat from Buxton was really happy to see the conditions had improved somewhat pulled up for a quick break an being a Northerner after a fiver blew outta my pocket I decided to chase after it haha after the success of rescuing that I dropped into Macc and jetwashed the Blade near home after picking some bike cleaner up dad thought I'd been greenlaning with the state of her lol luckily shes nice an clean an back to spotless condition again. Here's the pics from the way back on a much improved but highly windy Cat and Fiddle. Just in the process of ordering some heated grips the adv gear was much better than the leathers an my pinlock failed when going over the cat on the way to Matlock that made the pea soup even worse haha! 20191121_140634 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_140417 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_140406 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_140341 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_140358 by norton.rider, on Flickr 20191121_140348 by norton.rider, on Flickr
