Especially as Honda never seemed to admit there was a problem with the bikes

N after yesterday I have ruled the R1m out dare I say looks a little dated....plus reports of brakes fade etc,,,,yes will have a spin on the blade to see but will get one more season out of the sp....came back from the show sat on mine and thought it still looked sharp love the riding position as feel slightly in the bike ...arrow shaped front end so new supercorsa sp on in March and off we go again then test ride season begin...V4s then new blade properly ride while mines in for service end of June.....

If the standard blade is £20GBP, then I presume that will equate to €25k in Ireland, taking into account VRT & exchange rate bolloxmallarky.
The 2019 Duc V4 base model is €25200.

I know what I'd be picking, and it ain't Jap.

Saw the 2020 blade at the NEC today. Boring it is not. Quality seems on par with previous Honda blades with paint fit and finish - switches have a good and typical Honda feel. I know there were comments on the top yoke and swinging arm finish but I quite liked the black anodised finish. Kind of what I would expect on a race bike. Seating triangle will be challenge for any distance road work in my opinion but I am sure this can be sorted with more road biased rear sets. I didn't find the bar reach too bad (I'm 5'11) but interestingly they were around one centimetre down on the shock tubes on the show bike I sat on so I guess they can be raised and adjusted to suit the rider to an extent. Now as a track day tool the 19 blade is not too bad now the electronics have been sorted from my experience. Also interesting comparison here.

So I think the 2020 blade has a lot to offer for its intended purpose and Honda have been clear on the focus of this bike. I look forward to riding one as soon as the test bikes are out. Honda had a distributer briefing yesterday so I was told and they were informed that the first customer bikes will be out in March/April. I asked about the prices for the 2020 blades and these still had not been confirmed? Bit of uncertainty in the Honda camp about pricing maybe? I guess the 'estimated price' for each model could be it.

I've already ordered one and the SP is £23,499 on my paperwork. Also told 'Spring' delivery. Quite vague, but all will fall into place.

If you've read my previous comment about the rider's 'triangle' I'm pleased to see that you agree about that distances will be a challenge. I did forecast it would be uncomfortable for anyone over 5'9" and it seems you'd be at your limits of 'crumpleness':D

Well I'm a short-ish arse and the fit was good for normal riding, not sure about head down arse up though. Still far too much money for what it is though.

Seriously.... That's proper brand commitment buying before it's even been tested in the real world! Especially given previous model issues. On paper it sounds like they have finally bridged the gap, But in reality is this just more marketing blur? All manufacturers big it up especially the ones on the back foot. ... Year on year it will be revised to iron out any creases! Let's just hope it's not another White Elephant and those who have pulled the trigger can sit and look a little smug....

Yep. My first Honda was a new CB175 in 1970.

Sure, I could be stung with teething probs, but I am far less likely to be affected than those who do use the bike closer to its maximum potential. Might sound like a waste, but I am more than happy and (obviously) anxious to wait out the next 5 months.:(

Actually a sale of at least 2 of the new bike that I am aware of.

So onto the cycle trainer this winter and perhaps a few yoga classes with an emphasis on leg folds

I went to the bike show yesterday, first impressions lovely looking in the sp colours. BUT is it an sp with rear pegs and pillion seat I DONT THINK SO.

The Honda guy said both models are an estimated price as Honda haven’t told them the price?

The standard one in black wtf half gloss black half Matt:-(

Some lovely looking bikes Daytona 765/ R1m with that carbon fairing/ BMW s1000rr M got to be the bike to have??? Honda why o why

I was at the NEC yesterday, didn't like the black at all, the colours and the paint finish on the SP look amazing. The riding position was aweful and worse on the SP but don't know what's different. My mate felt the same, it feels like you sit higher on the SP which makes the position even more aggressive.
Being quite tall I did expect it to feel cramped. The R1 and Ducati V4 feel very roomy in comparison, even the Apriila RSV4 felt bigger.

If I was buying new it would be the R1M

Think it would be a toss up over the R1 and the s1000rr M

The Honda guy talked a good job to be fair, the new timing ratio etc sounds mega and red lining at 14500 rpm woop woop.

I have another bit of info but dare I share it about the new blade
