Yes it’s massively different and the brakes work on the new models but my sp2 is a step up from the 15 model but I love them all 5 and counting

Get real, my friend @gary1966 . You're not even in the running until you have one of these!

or maybe even one of these:

In all seriousness though, anyone who is prepared to back their love of bikes - no matter the brand or model, or whether one or a dozen - with the financial commitment that many of us inject, deserves kudos and appreciation from others. Fair play to you Gary, and your choices.:)

Mv is not my cup of tea but the Honda is lush but it’s not a fireblade if I had endless space then the 400 would be in my collection and I haven’t ruled one out when I sell the winter bike (free space) but any free space should go to a 92/93 blade ............

I applaud the commitment and happy that i am not alone and there are more committed folks than me, i have felt i have a real problem with bike buying, of course i do, i have, i am maybe in a slight rehab phase.

However from that very young age in my garage with my big brother, i was overwhelmed with the smell of old engine oil soaked into the wooden floor, surrounded with black and white pictures of his biking heroes, the sight of his Vincent racing side car and helping him push it down the cul de sac only to hear the ambient ensemble of mechanical wonderment, i was simply hooked.

I sit here on a Sunday morning thinking that was just over 50 years ago, i love motorcycles and i am often ridiculed for my wasteful passion that to others has no sense to it, to me there is no sense to it, its just what i am, a 2 wheel impulsive misfit o_O

Some are born wise some get wiser with age, some never learn but we all get to the natural end of existence no matter what we do, my quest is it enjoy life the best i can and not to judge others blindly, live and let live. So.... I am Paul and i am a compulsive motorcycle buyer...........:Do_O

    Yep, I echo that entirely.

49 years for me. October 1970 when I got my CB175:
    CB 175 1970.jpg

The biggest hurdle we face is from non-biking enthusiasts with their: 'Why do you need so many bikes?'

Friggin' p!sses me off. But I have developed the perfect counter: 'If I were collecting stamps or coins and had only three or four, there wouldn't be an issue. In fact, you'd be laughing and asking, "Where's the rest?"'

In reality, there are some wasteful moments and some regretted buys. But in the final analysis, I'd rather buy two bikes than 'waste' money on a £5,000 world cruise.

Mine started in 1980 with my first field bike at 14 Suzuki gp100 loved it loved everything from fixing punctures small issues with the carb etc covered in oil with black hands on a Monday going to school.
I am with you Nigel it pisses me off when people say why do you need 8 bikes I no I don’t need 8 but it’s my business not yours so f-ck off.

I think my bad buying is now done ✅

Yes I totally agree and i mainly regret i did not keep some, that alone would have naturally slowed down the compulsive condition. I don’t drink literally, i never smoked, don’t gamble except with bike buying :D, I don’t do going out and fancy meals, I don’t have a car, don’t do holidays abroad, don’t have a season ticket for a football club, I don’t spend much on clothes or jewellery, i am not saying any of that is wrong, remember live and let live but i remember being challenged by someone about my habit and when i highlighted all these things I don’t do they got quite upset when I must have subconsciously hit a nerve mentioning what i don’t waste my money on....:D:D:cool:

Lovely little CB too, they don’t make little bikes like that anymore that actually looked like motorcycles, my first bike was a 1977 CG125, it was a lovely shape compared to how they ended up looking.
