Hello, Looked at blades for years but could never afford one. Had a ZX9R C1 for the last 3 years and racked up 60k on it for a grand total of 125k on the clocks. It's finally showing its age so I found a good deal on this 2011 HRC blade (ABS) that had the quickshifter pre installed and an R&G tail tidy. Any advice for this bike...other than the ABS that'll try and kill me haha. Bike does seem a bit high on the seat compared to my other bikes, I'm on my tip toes, not sure if its its jacked slightly? Hi Marco and welcome. I had the exact bike. I'll post a couple of pics which will bore others (cos they've seen 'em) but you might be able to gauge correctness of height. I am 5'9" and touch with toes rather than flat foot.
Thanks Nigel! I'm about the same height so that'll be normal then! Am I right in guessing the red wheels ok mine aren't standard for the 2011 HRC paint scheme?
Hi mate and welcome, saw your post in the fb page. Bike looks smart, congratulations on getting it another member of the HRC club here and it’s been proven they are the fastest colour
Thanks, been waiting 4 weeks for, stupidly bought it blind but it's paid off thankfully! Now if the temperature would pick up a bit!
I sure have a soft spot for the 2011 HRC. It was my first 'big' bike after many years layoff. Brilliant bike, and agree about the colour. It is not just a bit of gobbing off, it is a scientific proven fact all relative to light refractation and how some colours penetrate the atmosphere at a faster rate than others. I won't bore you with the details though - it is thesis long!!
Welcome to the forum and indeed the HRC club of which I am the leader Jokes @nigelrb how does posting pics of bikes you don't own anymore help gauge ones height??
Oh, Paul. You have so much to learn! Of course it is irrelevant whether I now own the bike or not, BUT, our friend @MrMarcOH raised the query about his bike: '. . . not sure if its its jacked slightly?' To help the OP, I posted pics of my former 2011 (whose suspension I knew was set up properly) so that he might be able to discern any height differential - in comparing with his bike - either in the front forks or rear suspension. I was perhaps remiss in not advising that the seat height of the 2011 Blade is 820mm as opposed to the ZX9's mere 810mm.
Welcome sir..I had a ZX9r and a couple of ZX10R’s all fantastic but there is something more warming about a blade
