For what it's worth, now I see it on the bike, I am not so keen. I wonder if a complete change to say, Ducati red would set it off? With the engine covers cleaned, that would offer a really good contrast with the black and silver, and more to the point, make it more acceptable to the general buying community - with or without beards.;)

Good call. There's a Honda 400 'Thruxton/Manx Norton' on eBay at the moment. large front wheel spoils it though:

How about this then? R1 Blue....ish.
Maybe with silver forks and swingarm and anthracite wheels or even white rims?

I like the brown, and think maybe modern colours not right for what purports to be an old bike?

    Yep, that's a goer.

For resale, I believe you have to think 'modern' rather than 'authentic'.

If it were for yourself as a relic of the past, I'd agree on the traditional brown/orange, but a quick cash turnover relies on capturing a buyer's emotion. Just do it!

As an aside, will the price of oil increase as a result of your lengthy 'off shore' presence on here? :D;)

Just purchased a 6 Sigma stage 3 jet kit for the carbs based on pod filters, open exhaust and living at 0-1500 feet elevation. Cost inclusive of postage to the UK was just £47.

Not had much chance to work this time home as the wife has had an op on her foot so I’m in baby sitting mode! Only had a short amount of time to make it count.
A few bits arrived like my bar end mirrors with indicators built in.

My CB900F fork brace and cheap Ali Express mudguard arrived so I mocked it up.

Got my rear end welding done and cut off the old frame. Got my 8mm thick plate cut and tack welded on for the rearset footrest. I also managed to reweld the tank mount to close up the gap between tank and frame. Then I ran out of gas!

When I was out of gas my shoulder bolts arrived which gave me chance to fit my new Versys 650 ABS caliper and bleed it up. That’s one job complete.

I got more gas then managed to fix my Mig welder (spool drum was too tight!!!) so that’s performing well now.

I also treated myself to a new toy, a 200Amp AC-DC Tig so I need to learn how to use it now. The following pics are after minor play time on alloy which is notoriously difficult to weld. More practice needed I think!

Another couple of pics of my welding! It ain’t easy! I’ve made a lot of mess before I’ve got any progress!

Oh yeah, my KZ650B 18inch rear wheel arrived so I threw it in to see if I like the look.

    I LOVE IT!!!!

I’ve sourced an 18inch front from a KZ305 so I’m hoping it will compliment the rear.
