    Hi
Does anyone fancy attending a road bike only track day.
These days are very well run, no shenanigans tolerated, you must have a fully road legal bike
    Days available are
    Cadwell Monday 18th May
    Cadwell Tuesday 19th May
    Cadwell Monday 29th June
    Cadwell Tuesday 30th June
    Snetterton Monday 24th August
    Snetterton Tuesday 25th August

The Monday’s are nearly full but there are plenty of spaces for Tuesdays
I have done a number of these days and cannot recommend them highly enough

If you have not done a track day before these days are great, Lots of instructors in the novice group and no lunatics on track bikes who think they are Valentino.

I need breaking in gently with a mature rider for guidance definitely (and no I’m not talking about @Lozzy :D)

Well if you are up for the Snetterton Monday day I think you would really enjoy it, there no pressure on newby's, its all very relaxed and loads of very competent instructors. Robert like to call then rider perfection days rather than track days, they are not like regular track days.
They are run better than regular track days.
I'll be there on the Monday, its filling up fast so if you are interested get in touch with Robert ASAP

    Run Better how?

I usually do "No-Limits" TD's. and they all seem very well run

    The rules are enforced properly

No limits are pretty good to be fair, but I have done Focussed Events days where riders were dangerous but nothing was said or done, despite other riders complaining. Fast riders being allowed in the novice group and general nobish behaviour.
The Rider perfection days have lower numbers on track and will not tolerate any inconsiderate riding. Quite important when everyone is riding a valuable road bike, and in most cases has to ride home on it.
So the emphasis is on enjoyment and safety

if you are a serious trackday rider and more concerned about lap times then they probably not for you.

Im really in 2 minds about doing a track day this year (once we're past the virus). I'd out like to get better at riding, I don't think I'm too far off knee down territory and I'd love some training to get faster and lean further. Is a road bike track day the right way to get this? I'm so worried about getting on track and coming off when learning to push faster, I feel like i should really spend the money on Ron Haslam school or similar. What are people's thoughts?

Just book on any track day novice group, if your pushing to be able to get your knee down you will be fine, plus doing that on the road in crazy these days. Stay safe, losing some paint is better than a limb or worse

Yeah most TDO's have free instructors, book one when you get there, they will ride round with you, give you some pointers to help you, if you all want us your knee down?

I guess it's not so much knee down, and maybe more getting the last inch or so out of my tyres? I just feel like I have more to learn about cornering and seeing what the bike is truly capable of! Thanks for the advice.
