So, 2nd service due for mid June (fingers crossed it gets done) contacted Hunts in Manchester who pretty much just said we are shut, dont know when we will be open, Honda all furloughed blah blah and pretty much were useless. They said they would contact me back but haven't. Surprised a little as usually, Hunts are great.

Ive looked on the Honda website and they state that some dealers are open for services - but where? No mention of extensions to warranty or services. Pretty crap compared to other car / bike manufacturers and guides offered. Cant believe dealers cant contact SOMEONE at Honda SOMEWHERE

Anyone know of anywhere in the NW doing services or can I get it done elsewhere and keep it in warranty?

A bit far for me in Newcastle. I'm thinking of trying an independent to get the 600 mile service done. I believe it's just an oil n filter change plus a visual check over or am I wrong

I wouldn't worry about it, spoke to hunts before all this kicked off properly. My bikes booked in for Monday 1st June for second service. I've since spoken to the owner, John and he said the virus will be taken into account where service schedules and warranty issues are concerned. If it can't be done it can't be done.

I find myself in a similar position with my car that is due in at VW for its first service, they said exactly the same thing..... Cars booked in for Tuesday 2nd June!

Not 100% Hunts are going to be back in work by then but VW definitely are! ;)

Also, it's not legal for them to void your warranty, if you use an independent mechanic, so long as they use genuine parts.

From the horses mouth re warranty and servicing

In the event customers cannot gain access for a repair to be completed under the Honda Manufacturer Warranty and the fault was not logged with the dealer in the warranty period, we would request the dealer submit an SP “goodwill” claim for consideration. Careful consideration will be given to support each claim as long as the vehicle was booked in for the repair at the earliest convenience, the vehicle could not have been repaired prior to the restrictions being put in place and it was evident the fault was apparent within the warranty period.
We would ask each customer request is carefully considered by the dealer prior to submitting the SP claim.
We are currently in discussion with Honda Motor to agree any specific warranty flexibility to support the current situation. As soon as we have any further information, we will update you accordingly.
Some customers may be concerned that they will have invalidated their warranty due to missing a service at the required time whilst the restrictions are in place. We would request that you encourage customers to have their products serviced at their earliest convenience once any restrictions have been removed. If you are not sure if the claim will be validated or not due to a delayed service interval, then please submit an SP claim for confirmation

I’m sure others will have different opinions but I bought my Blade from Blackpool Honda and despite it being on my doorstep I’d never step foot in the place again.

All I got was lies and false promises, along with a bike with numerous issues, despite their ‘expert’ technicians going over it with a ‘fine tooth comb’.

In my opinion you’d be better nipping to your local Tesco and asking one of the checkout staff to service your bike on their lunch hour.

Sutton Motorcycles in the West Mds are open, joint Honda/Triumph dealer. Booked my Speed in for a service a week Saturday, they could have done this Saturday but I wouldn't have done the milage.

I appreciate it's not up north but may be of use to other midlanders.

    Good bunch of guys.
