Does anyone have any recommendations for heat protection for race fairings? Ideally if you have an example of something you've used and found to be effective that'd be great. I've ran the bike for a bit after fitting the fairing but it got extremely hot at the bottom. Hoping it's possible for around £40 or less.

I bought some of that sticky back gold foil when I changed exhaust system as the headers run very close to the belly pan. Seems to have worked great so far!

I used this when I swapped my exhaust out and did away with the OEM heat shield.
    No issues so far :)

I used that on my panniers for the ZZR performance sport , Givi didn't recommend hard panniers as they were only 10mm from the akra exhaust, worked well.

Also got some silver backed adhesive felt about 5mm thick, I used it on the Ducati1299 under the seat to stop my testies from melting, again it worked to the point they got hot but didn't melt

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

DazK, that links to the listing that I had found on ebay that looked the best bet. I'll give that a go and update when I've tried it. I may also try some of the sticky back foil. It didn't look thick enough to provide much insulation but I'm interested to see how effective it is.

I’m pretty sure I used the same type when I changed my exhaust and removed some of the heat shield.

That shield is easy to trim and fit and still stuck on with no melted plastics. Can’t fault it.

I bought the stuff recommended by @DazK and got round to fitting it today.

It's got a good bit of thickness to it, cuts easily and sticks securely to fibreglass. I bought 3 pieces, each 23x48cm at a total cost of about £27. That covered far more than the road plastics. Honda don't put any on the belly pan but I put it in the areas nearest the exhaust and radiator. Feel much less likely to burst into flames now.

    Just to follow up...

That stuff is very effective. I did my first track day of the year at the start of this week. The areas that were quickly scorching hot before are now just warm to the touch (with the bike up to temp) and you can comfortably hold your hand against them.

Thanks to those that advised above :)
