So just joined although I had a blade a couple of years ago. Just bought an HRC 2010 with 1400 miles on the clock to replace my s1000rr. It's an ABS model and I've seen the horror stories.... So what's the truth????

Hi and welcome to the forum. Hopefully you’ve got a good one, but if not all the info you need to either disable the system or remove it completely is on here. Good luck :)

Welcome mate, some early ABS models were a nightmare, a friend of mine had a 2010 Repsol ABS but had no issues.

So my guess is that there's a problem when the fluids not changed as its £400 to change?? Correct? Or not changed completely?

Who knows, don’t let my experience spoil the fact you’ve bought a blade in a great paint scheme.

EDIT - Rant removed as that wasn’t fair on you. Red wine and forum speak don’t mix and I should/do know better

Welcome Tigger 1400 miles in 10 years that's one underused bike, hope you double the mileage in a few months.

Mate firstly, welcome. this is one of the best forums around as you will find out.

As all have said above, there’s enough on here if you dig, to find out about the ABS issue.

Did you buy the bike privately or through a dealer ?

If it’s private then you are near/are on your own, if it’s a dealer you have legal protection, and if so, don’t screw with it yourself, but take it straight back to the and ask them to rectify the fault, for the first 3 months, the onus is on the dealer to prove the fault did not exist when you purchased it, after that months 4 to 6 it’s on the purchaser to prove it existed when purchased which is obviously a lot harder.

I won’t bash on, as most of my experience and anger on the ABS is embedded in print on here somewhere, but if you have questions just ask. My ABS pile of s*it was a 2010 HRC, must be something about them.

As to your first post ‘what’s the truth?’ ...... looks like your about to find out the hard way unfortunately. Honda shafted their loyal customers and washed their hands of it and walked away.

Hi and welcome to the forum, sorry about your abs issues. I wouldn't mess about with it personally as mentioned above......take it back to the dealer and let them sort it. Oooh if you'd only come on here and said you're 'thinking' of buying a 2010 with abs......you may have looked at another bike :eek:;)
