    Hi all

I am going to change my fork oil later tonight for some lighter weight oil and fork seals at the same time in prep for my Europe trip (if it even happens). It’s pretty basic stuff for me from used to working in garage but wondering if it would benefit anyone here if it’s written up? As I notice there are not much BPF info online and even Factory Service Manual is very simplified.

does anyone even do their own forks nowadays?

I am going to take some pics alone side anyway but let me know if I should spend an hour or so to write it.

Out of interest, where did you buy the SKF seals from?

I just put 7.5w instead of 10w into mine, will see if it gives me better small bump response and finer damping control

it just there is not much point uploading pic and spending hours to write up if no one needs it.

I do my own work. But I don't have bpf. Would be interested to see the internals . But don't do it just for me. I'd appreciate a layer out pic if you get the time.

I'd appreciate a write up please. I've serviced conventional forks in the past with no issues but never USD forks. There is a write up for the 08-11 fork on the sticky threads at the top but no info for the BPF.

Ok thanks, let me write this up over the weekend then, I have just reviewed the pic quality, they are not the best but will do the job; I can find some image from internet to substitute.

I bought the SKF seals from the internet but where from is another thing. I would not say they make a noticeable difference, stiction on the forks is about the same as before.
one good thing the BPF's do seem easier to work on but you need the tools

Reasons I asked is I give the cheap pyramid a try and first pair was ok for first year, second pair I put on in March got a bit of leaf/ black ish thing in from the down pour the other day and weeped, so got NOK seals in now and trying 7.5w oil as well, there is just not much places sell good seals anymore

It just I am planning to go to Germany in the summer or Scotland if lockdown rules allows otherwise I would’ve just seal buddy it until it pours out

I have never had a set of SKF leak but I do not do high miles or go out in the wet.

Think I'll watch this as I've been toying with the idea of sending mine off for service in an attempt to make the bike more comfortable. A fork service is £140 from Parkitt for example.

Just an update I have not forgotten about this but work had gone busy and weather is too nice not to go riding in weekend. And my bike just went past 20000miles last weekend :)

I have a spare set of BPF valve assembly so will take some pic to include it as well.

will try to get it written up in the next week or so

edit: if you need it done quick in the mean time message me and I will forward you links for tools if needed, and they should arrive about the same time the post comes up
