Anyone has used their silencer and what do you think of their product.

do they work without having to retune the fuelling?

Had one on a 600F, no tune needed and made a nice noise as well.

    Hi,
I have a Scorpion Taper Serket on my RR8. It's a well made bit of kit in my opinion. Looks good with the fairing extender or whatever it's called. It's not offensively loud without the baffle but still emits a nice sound. Re. fueling I've not felt the need for a remap or to even fit the PCV that I've had in my garage for 18+ months!! When I brought the bike it had another aftermarket silencer fitted, so I've no back to back comparison against the OEM silencer but my bike pulls cleanly with no flat spots. On another note, Scorpion were very helpful when I lost some of the bolts.
    Hope this helps a bit.

I had one on my 2010 Hornet. Well made, with a nice sound that isn’t too loud even without the dB-killer installed.

Ordered it direct from their stand at the NEC and it was built to order at their Ripley factory,

    All sounds positive. Thanks guys.:)
I will be taking off my OEM silencer for a revamp and ceramic coating. If this is not possible, then I will need to consider a non OEM option.
Akro do one but only in carbon (I really don't like the look of carbon) scorpion offer a titanium option. Unfortunatelt neither has the built in cable operated exhaust valve hence my quesiotn about remapping

What year is you bike? The 08 to 13 has a separate box with the cat in it and the 14 to 16 has a s link pipe. I had the later on my bike for a while, it was well constructed other than the link pipe could have been more of a snug fit. Nice sound, not too loud and also came with a baffle (which I never used). In my opinion as with most aftermarket exhausts, although it will run ok without being tuned it will definitely benefit with a remap.

On mine RR8 the CAT is in the silencer, I beleive in the later models it was moved upstream near the headers (always next to the upstream O2 sensor) making the silencer chepaer to replace.

Yeah that’s correct. That’s the reason the link pipes are different between 08 to 13 and 14 to 16. As it’s a road legal exhaust the 08 to 13 has a cat in the link pipe/box.

This is the Akrapovic pipe in titanium which does incorporate the exhaust flap, although I think you’d also need the later headers on a RR8. I have this one on my bike:

Akro stopped the range with the exhaust valve.
The stock OEM silencer is listed at £1100 +++
