Anyone find themselves WFH since the start of the Covid pandemic? How are you finding it? I am one of the many key workers (Or Mugs) who has worked throughout.

I've been WFH since March now, I quite like it (mainly as most in my office are really annoying :D).
They went nuts having video calls every morning at first but have calmed down a bit now.
There's a mix at our place, some can't wait to go back to the office and some want to work at home permanently. I'm hoping they go for a mix (few days at home each week and rest in the office) once it's get back to normal.
They let us get our big dual monitors etc from the office to set-up at home so it's been fine, just not sure what it will be like over winter once it gets colder and need the heating on more, expect bills will go up a bit.

I worked from home full time from the start of April up until about 3 weeks ago. I've always worked the odd day from home here and there so it wasn't that hard for me to adapt to. I quite like it in the main, hoping that my contract may change to become permanent home working in the future. I'm currently now 2 days a week in the office and the rest from home, just supporting another team that's in a pickle. Was a bit weird being back in the office after a few months away, commuting is a grind and having to put 'proper' clothes on is a faff. Quite nice to have some face to face interaction again though, even if it is from 2 metres away.

Not that it is a option in my current employment but I guess that if it was an option (in different employment) I think I would hate it. I like the structure of going out to work, plus the banter and Micky taking with my colleagues. As generally I attribute home to be a place of minimum work and relaxation, I feel I would be more tempted to sit on the sofa and ‘mong it’.

There's a lad who works in the same team as me, doing a similar role, based up in Durham. He's also been forced to work from home by Covid and hates it, he can't wait to get back to the office.

I started off working from the lounge and that didn't work, the temptation to put the TV on or gaze out of the window was too great. Managed to set myself up an office in a room we never really use in the house, which has made it a lot easier to focus. That said, I seem to have this forum open most of the day! :D

My work place has been super cautious probably as its based in Soho and 99% take the tube. We already had WFH procedures before lockdown and processes to acquire office equipment. Ive actually worked harder during the lockdown with a bonus of having a 80% paycut:mad: but full pay returned in July

I work in marketing technologies where everything is based in the cloud so remote working is encouraged. I like working from home but do miss the banter and cheeky friday pint.

I spend more time with the family and make a massive effort to get out at the weekend (been sea fishing with the family most weekends though I live a good hour from the nearest coastline!

Been WFH since the get go and hoping not have to go back to an office based role. I did get up later etc to start with but now get up and the time I always used to, beauty is a 7am start means a 3pm finish thanks to the lack of a commute. Some of the people I work with initially couldn't wait to get back to the office, but now everyone wants to WFH with an occasional meetup somewhere for team bonding.

I have popped in the office for a couple of days but that was only to collect a new laptop and to collaborate with the boss on a job that just couldn't be done remotely.

Like others I was already used to WFH so have a decent setup with dedicated desk.

I too have been WFH since March.
Initially I was on the sofa or in the kitchen but decided after it became clear we would be home for a few months to make a small desk in my garage, my firm sent us all a 27” monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse too.
It now feels more like work being out of the house and away from the TV.
Nice to be able to have the radio on though!

I think I am one of those who would like to maybe do a day or two in the office every week or every other week and remain WFH.
Seems to suit some whereas others prefer to be in the office.

    Back in the office now.

In March, when we got the order I dismantled my workstation before leaving, and built it at home so I continued to have two screens. Work wise it felt like being a battery chicken. Took some quick pictures of the office so I could use them as a Virtual Background on zoom - put up a green screen:D

Everything took so long. To ask a colleague a simple question - email - wait - email reply - email again. Payments took so long to arrange, sign, send. People signed wrong thing - didn't sign it - left it too long so it timed out and had to be done again because someone missed it.

We are all back at the office now - put my name down straight away to be back in the office !

    A selection of virtual backgrounds......

It's been business as usual for me as I'm a keyworker (apparently).

On a selfish level, I really enjoyed the reduction in traffic whilst it lasted - it was bliss. I have a long commute into the big smoke and what can be an hour and a half (even on the bike) was consistently under an hour each way and each time during lockdown.

I hope a lot of businesses take stock of the last few months and start giving their staff WFH options.

1, To reduce the traffic on my end, 2, for those who find a better work/life balance with the option to WFH, and lastly - to give the middle finger to all these property tycoons who charge eye watering rent due to the demand.

Started working from home at the end of March, finished on the Friday before Boris announced lockdown.

Suits me, but then I'd be happy if I was the only one left after the zombie apocalypse. I run a security function and I built the team to be able to work remotely. A couple of the guys I manage want to get back into the office a couple of days a week, which we'll accommodate. Doesn't mean I'll be there though. ;)
