Just fitted an Akra Slip on and wanted to try a map off the dynojet website. I've had the power commander fitted for a while in anticipation of getting a new exhaust. I've been running it with the zero map until now and I use stock air filter.

My Akra is the slip on with the valve in the link pipe which I am going to run permanently open because I removed the servo motor long ago.

The map I am going to try is titled:
16-034-503- European Model Akrapovic can and link (no CAT) baffle removed and stock or aftermarket filter.

Questions, why does it say (no CAT)? The CAT is in the headers. The title doesn't mention Akra headers so presume the map is meant for stock headers?

Also, which Akra can is the map meant for? Or is it so generic its not that vital?

Thanks for the help. If anyone has any other map suggestions for my setup I'd be grateful.

I’ve had that can on before and couldn’t find a map on there website.
I called them direct and told them what I’d done to the bike and they emailed me (Same day)a map to download to the pcv.

worth a try mate as found them very helpful to deal with.

Will send an email right now. What did you reckon to the can? I've not even tried the bike with it yet. Did you sell it with your old fireblade?

I loved the can mate, made a nice tone while being discreet enough to play without any hassle.
If it hadn’t got so damaged while under the lorry and I hadn’t scrapped the bike, it would be on the bike I have now.

I emailed dynojet all the information above plus pictures of my exhaust and they replied saying that 16-034-503 is the right map for that exhaust. The "No CAT" refers to the slip on not having a cat in it.

so the cat at the join can’t be doing a lot? Or they’ve produced a map with that in mind? Either way you should be ok

Guessing they've mapped it with stock headers. I can see me ending up running the zero map anyway to be honest. The last map I tried before I bought the exhaust with the bike completely stock was....

16-034-501 - European model stock exhaust and stock air filter.

I just found that although it ran a lot nicer and the throttle felt a lot more wholesome it wasn't enough of a benefit to offset the loss in fuel economy. I was losing 20-25 miles out of a tank.

I'll get a custom map eventually but I'm waiting for the last 2 pieces of the jigsaw....2nd hand decat headers off the forum and a translogic quickshifter.

though not with a akro found this too with my yoshi, created a custom map with 'cruising' areas where the AFR was leaned out a bit to around 13.8. My final map was super smooth on the throttle without the loss of economy.

You think I'll be ok with the Akra map then?

I had a POD and Autotune so knew the AFRs I was running. The Yoshi map I downloaded wasn't too far off but the PCV maps can be hit and miss but the Akrapovics are generally well designed so you don't always need remapping.

Check the map you have, does it generally lean out or richen?

Hard to say, I'll have a decent look at the table next time my laptop is out. I'd say its fairly even, does a bit of both.

I've just been out for a quick test ride, feels great very smooth. Exhaust is lovely too, not too loud even without the baffle. I'm off to Scotland next week so can get a better idea of how the economy has been affected. I've got a map switch with the zero map in slot 1 if its too thirsty I can swap it back.

My CBR has the cat in the rear can, so when they say no cat it probably means no cat. you may be able to tell if there is a date on the map, mine is 2013 , I am not sure what year they moved the cat into the downpipe. I am sure the exhaust flap increases torque at the lower revs If it was me I would be inclined to try fitting it back on if not to hard

The cat is in the headers from 14-16 I'm fairly sure.

Cat is definitely in the headers on 14-16. Ermmm, I never liked the characteristic the exhaust valve gave the bike. Always felt like you were waiting for it to open for the bike to really start moving. I removed it when the exhaust was stock and have never looked back.

Anyway, as I said the map is superb and the bike feels great just got to wait and see what its done to the fuel economy.
