Not seeing too much info online, which replacement bulb would you recommend getting for the low beams?
Do you want to stay with incandescent? ive got a set of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nighteye...-Headlight-KIT-6500K-Bulbs-White/153595605481 as recommended on here. Straight swap on both Bulbs. Super happy with them, brighter than stock (even though I think the stock bulbs were good). And they give the blade a facelift and make it look a bit more modern (if that’s your thing)
Thanks these look good, are they just plug and play? It seems to have a big cooling fan on the bottom (I think that's what it is), does that not cause any problems? Won't it overheat with the cover? Also the ebay ones would take a while to get there, but I think I found the same on amazon. Let me know if I'm mixing something up though https://www.amazon.co.uk/NIGHTEYE-A...=1&keywords=h7+Nighteye&qid=1601363546&sr=8-5
Yep just plug and play. They do have a cooling fan but everything fits in nicely (snug, but it fits). I’m a mechanical retard but even I managed to do them. Re temperature, I’ve not had any problems, but the most I’ve ridden In one go is 2hrs since I’ve put them in. the original thread discussed on here is here https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/led-headlight.30098/ and the overall opinion is all good and no problems with heating etc. those amazon ones look the same for sure, couldn’t say 100% if they are. They’re all made in the same factory and repackaged anyway . The EBay ones came quite quickly, 5 days including a weekend - but then again I’m in the UK.
Just swap for the one in the other side. That way when it blows you can buy a matching pair Who needs a high beam anyway
Alright cool I might grab those, it seems a bit weird that there is no heat issues though, there is no airflow to the bulb at all is there? I guess in the worst case I can drill a couple holes in the cover Also isn't 9000lm overly bright by the way? It sounds pretty extreme, does that not blind oncoming traffic?
Also I'm guessing you didn't have this issue like this guy does, where the prongs are not the correct width and are too narrow? Can be seen at 10:46. Anyway already ordered the ones you recommended
Maybe the air can dissipate elsewhere, they have fans on them? In the thread I linked, people have posted their experiences of riding all day etc and the Weather cap not even being warm etc. no problems with oncoming traffic. I’ve not measured it in anyway, purely observation - but the bulbs to me are no brighter than any LED bulbs that you get in modern cars nowadays from Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc. I’d take the 9000 lumens Description with a pinch of salt. The bike sailed through its MOT (annual check) with no problems. The ones I bought in the EBay link are a direct fit in both mount and plug. No issues at all in a 2010 model.
Awesome thanks for the info. Also what I noticed on your ebay listing it says "Canbus Error Free" and on my one it doesn't say that. I'm not too familiar what this is, can someone explain if it's something I should worry about? My bike is 2011 blade
Alright all swap out looks good! Still thinking if it's worth putting a few holes in the back of the plastic cover to get some air in that thing, but for now I will leave it as is
