    Hi all.
I bought a pair of Microwire PRO XR gloves in April, because they were on offer from SBS.
First time use last Friday & found they didn't work, apart from in a small area on the back of my left hand between thumb & index finger. The heat was fairly intense & caused a burn.
    I took a photo - luckily.
As I've had them for more than 30 days, SBS contacted Gerbing.
    Anyone else had similar?
Gerbing want to speak to me personally.

I’ve literally just picked up a pair of Microwire XR gloves and Microwire Socks today with the digital controller.

I’ve plugged them in and tested them for a good few minutes cycling through the different temperature settings and they’re working fine. I also have an older pair of the XRS 12 Gloves which I’ve been happily using for the last 2 and a bit years. I only got the new ones because the socks couldn’t be used with the gloves.

I had one issue about 6 months in with the XRS 12 gloves where the right glove wasn’t getting particularly warm, had to send everything to Gerbing and it turned out to be a faulty heat controller which they replaced. I approached Gerbing directly because I wanted it done Ricky tick and didn’t see the point in sending back to SBS and then them sending it back to Gerbing etc.

Shame to hear you’re having dramas with yours. I’d expect and hope Gerbing to make it right.

Even after my early hiccup, I rate the Gerbing stuff highly. It’s a complete faff to set up all the wiring, pin it in place etc - but when that cold winter comes, it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

Yeah, it's what I expected of them, so a bit disappointed. The quality of the leather, fit & visor wipe in the right place are spot on.
Connecting them up is a bit of a pain, as you say, but I'd hoped worthwhile.
I've stuck my Tucano Urbanos on, as my old winter gloves are colanders! Function over form & heated grips!
Maybe Gerbing will compensate me for the burn with a freebie full kit!
BTW @Empty_Ten. I stuck with one of the Interphone kits, sent the second on back & got another audio kit for £30. They work great for sat nav/phone connect. Radio's a bit shit though, but maybe I haven't got the hang of tuning it yet. Cheers for the advice/recommendation.

Not the best start for sure. Unfortunately, due to the nature of its configuration, there’s all kind of potential points of failure. Is it the glove connector? The heating element? The y lead for the gloves? The battery lead? The heat controller? Etc

hope they sort you out, I don’t think you’ll get a full set of stuff but hopefully something which you can both agree on.

Great to hear about the Interphone, glad it worked out for you in the end. The radio on mine is acceptable but not the best thing going. I used to use it when I get bored of my music/playlists - reception is a bit hit and miss. I’ve downloaded a DAB radio app onto my phone and just play that now most of the time. I’m not sure how/of that would work with your satnav though. I don’t do audio directions myself, I prefer to just glance at the satnav for directions.

I've had a pair of the MicroWirePRO for about a year - not that impressed with them such that I've found I'd rather have frozen fingers than risk fumbling around with these boxing gloves on. Maybe these are great for non-sports bike riders or for people with normal hands, or for those that don't use indicators - but for my "normal" hands, the material for the fingers are too wide even though my skinny fingers reach the ends, and the heat seems to be great on the hands (on max setting), but my finger tips still get cold. I much prefer to use my thermal Goretex Richa gloves on the cold morning rides. Don't think I'll be buying any more heated gloves, when the time comes, I think I'll go for heated grips instead.

My hands suffer in cold weather, really badly. Index & middle finger go pure white with no circulation - Raynaud's disease. I can literally hold a cigarette lighter to them & not feel a thing. I should qualify for a disabled badge!
I've got heated grips, always had them, but they don't help much with fingers covering the brake lever.
Had a conversation with a chap called Ian, at Gerbing. He kindly offered to send their latest version to me, without question (Great customer service!). I'm not so sure if they'll do the job (He guessed Reynauld's during our conversation), so I asked him to hold fire on those.
I've put Tucano mitts on for now, which do a great job, but can be awkward/slow to get hands back in after a visor wipe. And they make me look even more like a nonce, if that were possible.
Riding with absolutely no sensation in my fingers scares the shit out of me, because I cannot feel the brake lever at all. I have to pull over to get some sensation back.
Heated gloves looked like the answer to my prayers, despite the pissing around connecting them. Ian said the new ones are hotter, so hopefully they are in the fingertips.

I’ve got exactly the same mate, and eventually came off because of it and since I’ve used heated grips.

If it stops raining tomorrow I'll remove the glove wiring from the bike & post it all back to them.
In the meantime I've ordered a pair of Rukka gloves. I hope they're not made in China, or anywhere in Asia. I'd rather all the money went to Europeans.
    Bet they are though.
@Noel That's bad mate. Hope not too serious!
