Not as "wrong" as I do clearly, since your quote is 50% cheaper than mine!!

I do think sometimes they just have a wheel of fortune and it is pure luck as to what you get!

I think in this case, the value of the bike is the ultimate killer. I would've through my age (33) was reasonable, but not helped with only holding a full licence for 4 years.

I think the Bexley post code is also whats driving your premium up, because of the London factor. I'd dread to think what your quote would be if you added commuting as well!

I still wince at how much it is, but I've got a multi bike policy for my 2017 MT10 SP and 2010 Blade. Fully comp and upto 15k miles on each one including commuting - that was £900 this year. My Missus's 2018 SV650 cost £850 for a year! But shes only had her licence a year and not garaged. Said colleague with the A2 has an MT03 and pays £800 for that

Bennett’s were best at 855 with a 500 compulsory + 100 voluntary, brutal for you boys buying them.

Not that I'm planning on buying one but I thought I'd give it a go and mine came in at £494 with £350 xs from Bikesure and Bemoto.

Truly a bargain - have you tried getting a quote for a 2020 SP though? That would be really interesting to see what you'd be offered given they're virtually giving you free insurance on your current bike..?
I'm looking at around £500 for renewing my 2017 blade (RA-H)..

As for your quote - hmm, I think I might have to ask that your post is censored - it's just obscene!

That's affordable as far as I'm concerned. Whilst I could maybe get together £1800/yr for insurance, it's the fact that it seems ridiculous for a bike that's only going to be worth £20k a few months after I'd bought it (probably cheaper to get gap insurance, but hey I'm sure there's a clause that would sting me either way)..

So, just tried again for a quote for a 2020 SP and the quote's come down quite a lot from the £2000 quote I got a few weeks back (I've not moved house). But oddly, only MCE returned a result from the comparison website - no other insurance companies did.

Still a £2000 excess though, although a similar quote for a BMW S1000RR (207HP) M Sport was £1108 with £2k excess.. All of a sudden, the RR-R SP is looking relatively cheap to insure LOL!

Oh an the non-SP RR-R was £809 with £2k excess.

Best get Total loss cover gives you 25% on top of what you will get offered if a write off now demo bikes are coming up a few wks old and 100miles or so for 19,5k dropping the same as the last model....wait until snow on floor then Jan 17k my local dealer has 2 black sp pre registered waiting to strike of course when you trade it in you may get less as 2 owners but saving £££££ is worth it....
