Hi everyone, I’ve just acquired a new “old” 2018 SP. I traded in my 600RR as I was finding it increasingly uncomfortable - I’m nearly 60 and in the last year I’ve found it’s gone from snug to painful! The last Blade I had was ‘98 - I loved that bike and I wonder why it’s taken me so long to come back. I picked it up on Tuesday and I managed to get a few rides in before the rain hit. I’m so impressed with how it handles and it’s bloody quick! Sam
I have to chip in here and ask: How can a 2018 Blade be more comfortable than a 600RR. The Blade is a tight fit at the best of times.
There’s a couple of ways it feels better - the Blade is a tad bigger and it feels like I have a bit more room. I’ve noticed that my knees aren’t feeling stiff after riding the new bike. The second way must be down to seat shape (and my shape!) - with the 600RR I’d get pain at the top of my hamstrings after about 15 minutes, after about an hour it could get really uncomfortable. I had a gel insert fitted which helped a bit, but the difference with the new bike is noticeable - I’m not getting any discomfort at all on the Blade.
Welcome sir enjoy the step back up. Yes a little more space but certainly no more comfort. Go buy a gel seat ye won’t regret it.
As you asked so nicely @Fwsock >>this thread<< emerged whilst you were away, pretty safe to say Nigel is unlikely to be ever welcomed back, unless you include @Lozzy's pitchforks.
