2018 SP1 False neutrals for fun!

    I do believe they drop the engine out.

    Keeping an eye on this.
    I don’t get false neutrals but get the pedal stay up so you can’t select another gear. Usually 5th to 6th.
    Interested in what you find

    *Update*
    Had the gearbox out (not me personally).
    Didn't find anything major just a little bit of wear but nothing alarming. Replacing 3 of the gears and selector forks with the hope that will do the trick?

    If I were replacing gears, I'd use Nova gears. I put a few in my NS. Lovely pieces of kit, beautifully finished. It could be that burrs on the original are causing the problem. The Nova kit is highly polished to strength steel.

    I did ask them about doing a standard ratio gearbox and i think it was £5k.

    So I'm going to replace a few of the components with genuine Honda parts and keep my fingers crossed that it works.

    They did the NS gearbox for me. I gave them a genuine one to copy. A full box was £2,500 but I only wanted a few gears. I replaced 3 @ £500

    I just posted the minor position change to the shift arm on the other forum.
    I moved the arm one tooth clockwise and found a far more positive shift. I hated the gearshift beforehand.

    Hope this sorts it for you. If you don't mind me asking how much was it to drop the engine and check over the gearbox? Did you use a local garage? Cheers

    My mate has a workshop and i believe i will be painting most of his house after this!!:D

    When it's finished I'll let you know what it's likely to cost in real money.

    If you're having trouble, try greasing the shift lever bolt. They put the bare minimum on everything at the factory and washing & riding in the rain takes that out. Made a huge difference to the front brake too.

    I have done the gearbox output shaft needle roller bearing conversion and put bearings in the gear lever and this has made a big difference
