well I've done it again and instead of finishing a project 80s dt250 kxf 250 and let's face it my rr4 needs work but I've got a bandit 650. it's a non recorded stolen recovered . guy bought it parked her up and it was nicked from garden . he hadn't insured it. 2 months later its found stripped down in a toe rags house and seller got it back. it's in a state needs a fair bit of work as thiefs stripped it down sold some bits and fecked others but its still got an mot and ran ok . I've a load of service history with it too. I need carbs a front end clocks loom tank and seat front calipers switchgear ect(not sure how she will look yet standard xr69 rep or something else retro) I've a set of plugs filters and fresh oil to go in and ill check valve clearences ect before I start buying parts . a lot to do and buy but for £370 I think I've done ok.
something about these engines I always loved how they looked. I could swap out for a 1200 bandit lump or a gsxr 750 one but for now it will stay 650.
I wish I had your skills (and garage)...this is the stuff I’d like to be able to do. Another thread for me to watch....make sure you take shit load of pics and bung them on here, I love watching these build threads.
Will do . might be a slow burner as most of the stuff I need is kind of one's purchase a month kind of thing but I'm looking forward to it.
I've got new throttle cables spark plugs filters battery . a used full loom and a tank with a small dent . I've also removed the clutch cover ignition cover as both have small scratches . I may polish or repaint not sure
I'm going to buy some carbs lock set switch gear and clocks once my kxf finally sells. I want to get her running before I make mind up on standard or modded front and rear ends ect.
well started to get some more parts in so set of forks and yokes to replace twisted ones a spindle and front wheel with discs .
