Some really good biking roads around Rothbury , well the whole of Northumberland really. Probably better suited to adventure style bikes more than sports bikes but head a little west towards Otterburn and the roads become a little more open and you can wind the sports bikes up a bit.
Anyway I hope you had a nice time :)

Thanks Paul, Yep had a great time there and in the Dales, roads are fantastic compared the the endless jams in this part of the world, obviously October meant there was not a lot of traffic around, and did see a lot of GSs everywhere, only downside was that we were in the wife’s Kuga and not in my ST, would have had a ball in that.

Errrrm, aren't we on lock down in UK at the moment?

Something about only essential journeys, reducing burden on hospitals, and protecting the vulnerable people...

I'd love to ride my Fireblade these last few days of the season, but my conscience prevents me.

Am I being stupid and misunderstanding pandemic lockdown, hospital overload, virus spread etc messages? Perhaps I should think and act like Trump...

You are allowed to go outdoors for recreation (visit public places with one other) and exercise, one could say that motorcycles are recreational items, also you can use between 200-600 calories per hour and tone muscles riding a sports bike, therefore a form of exercise :D
You can ride a bicycle or go for a run to get more exercise, but any exercise is better than none lol ;)
hopefully the police will agree :D

I give up. Perhaps we should just just cut to the chase and all organise covid sharing parties...

Everybody is in different situations and people need to stop judging others when they don't maybe know the full facts.

Wozza could have visited or met his support bubble or collected items in that ride he mentioned. But it's a bike forum so why mention those things that aren't bike related in a ride report!

I live on my own. My support bubble is 2 people who have bikes. I'm meeting one today. We will get a takeaway coffee and sit on the bench in the park and catch up. All perfectly legal.

My personal contact footprint during lockdown is miniscule compared to say my neighbours who both work in large supermarkets and have kids at all school levels. No one judges them so why should they get sanctimonious if I Iegally roll my bike out.
I may post a pic on here but I wouldn't go into justifying why I'm there or out on my bike.

If people are more comfortable not riding even when they can then I respect that. But please respect people who wish to go out (legally)

My take - I did not use my bike at all during Lockdown 1, when things were much more serious and hospitals were over-flowing.

Now.. I may go out for an hour on the bike if I want to. I am not meeting up with anyone, and its just me and the bike.. I'm hardly going to catch covid on the bike.

Way I see is it is if you go out on your bike then it is no different than going for a cycle ride or a walk. However it does add extra risk in the case of having an accident.

Saying that I don't think that going out in a group and not maintaining social distancing is acceptable, whether that is at a bike stop, conversing on a cycle ride, or walking dogs with multiple other households.

Went out for recreation today ......tomorrow as raining will be a pedal day of course stopping for 2 mins silence ..the next week back to work will be a London...Midlands....M4 corridor if I'm having to do that I can still take the bike for a spin although I am going to protest going into a training room with 4 other colleagues when it could and should be done virtually ..
