Good spot Loz, as Si rightlymentioned the issues around the ethics of Chinese products, and I know it’s in the past but the Ze Germans were partial to a bit of slave labour as well, but if their kettles are homemade as the blurb suggests on their website, then I will give them a chance, and to be honest I put my principles aside when I bought an M3, so buying a kettle shouldn’t give me too many sleepless nights ;)

In overdrive now, just found this website

    https://makeitbritish.co.uk/about/

I should also declare that I bought one of the first T595s in an effort to prove to all my mates that it was as good as our Jap superbikes, and the English could compete ....... needless to say it wasn’t, broke down regularly as was a pile of cack, and left me stranded in various countries around Europe, which meant I endured 2 years of serious piss taking from said mates, that said, unlike them, I grew to appreciate how many beautiful places there are, which you learn when you have time on your hands sitting by the roadside waiting for a breakdown truck :)

If anyone else is looking for an electric kettle NOT made in PRC. I'll save you the hassle, give up now. Unless you want to pay through the nose for one made in Italy.

Looked at our kettle and it just said Made in Germany. Went to the Googlegod and it said -

What makes the Braun particulalrly desireable is, at a time when almost every small appliance is made in the Far East (and of questionable quality), the Braun is still made in Germany of first-rate materials.

Ve haf ways ov making eet verk.....

I gave up looking for the Holy Grail of kettles. I did find a few not made in China but they were either far too expensive or the reviews were terrible. So by way of compensation and to ease my conscience a little, I bought from an online department store, Harts of Stur. Unfortunately it's made in China but I helped a department store, I hope.
