    This...

"The vaccine cannot give you COVID-19 infection, and a full course will reduce your chance of becoming seriously ill. We do not yet know whether it will stop you from catching and passing on the virus, but we do expect it to reduce this risk."

    ...is very different from this...

"The vaccine makes no difference to go on hols as it does not stop you catching or transmitting"

...so I think that getting the vaccine and having some way to show that you'd have it is a very positive thing.

Just to be clear, I'm not really interested in winning an argument or changing your mind, it's just that as I see it the more stuff that's posted that's either exaggerated or wrong stops people from wanting to take the vaccine or viewing it as pointless. This means that the situation we're all in will drag on and on. I'm utterly sick of not seeing my mates/family want all this to go away.

    Take it easy.

But if you weren't aware of those things that might make you more or less likely to get it when you did, it damn sure feels pretty indiscriminate when you do! ;)

My mam has been assigned to start dishing out the vaccine in our local area. They have taken over a large sports complex which according to her is really well set up for it. She and all of her colleagues but 1 opted to have the vaccine.

Shes a bit mad to start with but will keep an eye on her and report any developments. She has experience of covid patients and said she would rather take the vaccine than risk going through some of the things she has seen through it.

My 81 year old mother had her first Covid vaccination shot yesterday. I'm so pleased for her. I will have mine as soon as I can.

My mum had her vaccine yesterday as well. Very precise time slot as there were lots of others having the same. They timed how long she had to wait after the vaccine before she was allowed to leave - all that was well organized according to mum.
