Anybody use a SENA intercom? Specifically the 20S EVO. Thinking about getting one but worried it won't be loud enough whilst using foam earplugs. Anybody got any experience with intercoms?

I've got the Interphone Urban intercom. Brilliant bit of kit, great battery life and very good with voice commands.

All the internal parts are lovely and discreet, but the actual unit is quite large. It does make using the buttons easy though.

If I was being really picky, the base level isn't great and it's a little ugly.
There may be newer models out now, mines around 4 years old and still going strong.

I'll take a look, cheers. What's it like whilst wearing ear plugs?

The 20S will be loud enough with ear plugs in. You will struggle at motorway speeds and above no matter what system you use though, especially if talking. Music is a bit better.

Ive had the 20S and the 20S Evo, I put some of my thoughts of it here https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/bluetooth.40228/#post-536232

I’d take Interphone over Sena myself.

A conversation is OK up to around 65 / 70MPH, then you struggle.

If you're listening to music, it's ok upto 80mph +. Over this you can hear the music but it's not perfect.

I always use ear plugs with a filter so that'll help.

Got the 10s few months ago really pleased with it. Wear plugs all the time and sound is ok but like others have said can get drowned out at speed. As long as you've got a decent quiet lid you'll be fine :)

Use the interphone tour which allows four of us to have a laugh, never used earplugs with it,but others in the group do, they never seem to have any issue

I use a 20S and love it. We use them touring and they make the trip. Can hear music but bass isn’t too good, just ordered a speaker upgrade for £40 (XSound 2.1 helmet speakers). Can speak on the phone at 80 and those on the other end can’t tell you’re on a bike! Only found this out a couple of months ago. I use mine with Shoei GT Air, great fit.

I do when we go away touring. It works fine with the speakers being so close to the ears.
