Am I being too anal? Ordered GB racing engine covers and 2 of them have turned up with tiny marks (scuffs) on them. They're very slight but its annoying me because you CAN see them and 1 of the 3 covers is unmarked which says to me thats the standard all 3 should reach.

I know they're just crash protection but at £180 they aren't bloody cheap so I've sent them an email.

    What do you think?

Send them back you're never going to be happy with them, they shouldn't have been dispatched in the first place .

You're not buying engine protection your buying bling.
Bling must at least start good as scratches need to be a personal statement.

They aren't good enough looking for "bling" in my opinion Nigel. I bought them for if the worst happens on a trackday they give me a fighting chance of riding the bike home.

    Here is the bling.....:D

Send them back as you'll always see the marks, and then someone can buy them as seconds! Must admit I've just bought a RH engine casing as have small mark on mine - but why when the rest of the bike is nice but not perfect?

Hey @PauloHRC It's an anal thread o_O ,,,,,, being serious now , no your not Charlie. I wouldn't be happy with them and contact them
I bought a head stock lift a few years ago and part of the weld was not on the joint and it pissed me off , so took pics and contacted the seller and fair play to them a replacement part was sent out in two days , they said to keep the other part so it's used to hang leathers off :)

They could possibly have been sold and returned, look like they've been out of the packaging maybe? Did you get them from Gb racing direct or off another seller? Either way they should be in the sealed bags they come in from the factory!

Coincidentally......I have a set of unmarked Gb racing covers for a 17-19 blade up for grabs.....oh and an MRA racing tall screen! ;)

They were from Reactive Parts when they had a 15% off boxing day sale. Came in sealed GB bags. I've emailed them now, sure they'll sort me out. Probably a bit embarrassing if they look at them in poor light, you can only really see the marks under my super bright LED garage lighting

Yeah not really bling, run them on my R1 to save the casing if sliding down the track/road, but still, you don't want them scratched when new

Yeah, deffo not bling, if all the top BSB and WSB teams use them then I would say they are far from bling as they serve a decent purpose. But you do right to get in touch to send them back, if you are buying new, then you would expect them to be unmarked.
