    Hi all,

looking for some help from fellow rr6/7 owners. Cleaning my RR7 and notice the gearshifter has a real wobble to it. I don't remember it being like that! Are they normally fixed? Or is it normal to have some play?

The bolt is tight so I took it all off and nothing look out of the ordinary but not really sure what im looking. Popped it all back together and tightened bolt and it wobbles like mad.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I did have a look but doesn't look like they make them for a 2007. Curious as to why you recommended this, is it a common problem?

If you can see play between the lever/linkage and where it clamps onto the splines it needs looking into pretty quick, you do not want the gearbox shaft damaging, normally the gearbox shaft is harder than the gear linkage so you need to find exactly where the play is

I put one of those on my 2007 as the accuracy of the gearchange wasn't as I liked it. I fitted that and the change feels a lot more positive.

If there is something actually wrong with your bike then you'll need to fix that as Jez said but if there isn't I think that this bearing holder makes takes some of the flex out of the change shaft.

I've got an RR6 and the shifter is tight as a nut - as others have said, find out where that play is pronto!

So been into the garage and had a proper look.Good news..its not the gearbox end that's loose, its the gearshifter (number 3 in diagram) which in theory just bolts onto the bike. Ive taken it off and I have all the associated parts listed in the diagram. When it goes back on the bike and tightened up there is a significant wobble on the pedal. Bizarre! Am I missing something here?

I do not have a pic of the bearing that fits on the outside of the lever to stop it moving laterally but this is what I did
