Not riden my bike since the end of October and it's not been started (battery has been on trickle charge) I remember on the last run the fuel light came on just as I was about to get home I didn't refuel and parked the bike A mate has just suggested that I should of added fuel stabilser before laying up, should I now I put a few litres of fresh fuel in and add some stabiliser ? Can't see me getting out on the bike for at least another month . If yes what stabiliser should be used.

I Wouldn't bother with a stabiliser, just brim it with some V Power. The fuel in the tank will only now be starting to lose it's properties. Roll on the spring aye!!

I'd just put some Shell V power in , it wil freshen up the electolite in the old fuel . I never bother with stabilizer, just put a nip of 2stroke in
Do you keep it in a dry garage Brad ?
I wouldn't worry to much about it ,,,,,,, soon be biking season ;)

Edited to say as above :D

I use the Honda fuel stabiliser and it says to add it to a full ta k and run the bike for five mins to get it into all the nooks and crannies....so you could add the fuel and stabiliser and run it up for 10-15 mins to get it round everywhere.

I normally use fuel stabiliser over the winter but forgot this time. Not sure I will bother again in the future after seeing this a few months ago.

I think next time I will just brim it with Esso non-ethanol fuel..

I have used both sta- bil and motorex in the past.
For just a month any fuel would do. If you want to make a fuss the checkout which high octane is ethanol free. I think texaco and bp might still be.
Remember also high octane/ exotic goes off quicker
