Although I'm a few months off. How have others got on with the end of a PCP. I'm wondering if it worth part-exing before the end of the contract. Mine ends September 2021.
I got within 3 months of the end of my pcp on my last car the gfv was £8350 but because my mileage was set at 9k a year over 4 years and I was massively under this at a total of 15k for the full term I was offered £10.5k for my car as it was basically as new so really pleased with it so did a part ex on a new to me car on a hp deal I don’t think I’d do another pcp as the thought at the end of possibly having to stump up a large amount of cash got a bit nervy especially with the current climate plus dealers are more savvy now with the gfv and when you look at it as a whole the interest on a pcp is usually a lot more than hp if you go full term and pay it off
In my experience, they expect you to sell or trade your car in towards the end of the PCP. I've always sold my cars before the end of the term. Mostly have made some money, but only on one car i lost some cash. Always worth checking the private value of your car/bike against how much you owe.
Hi Kevin, check the GFV against the bike's value either as p-ex or private sale. My daughter had a Citroen and the market value was much less, so she just handed the keys over to the dealer after 3 years.
