First fun run for ages yesterday.
Been riding to work through the winter but those are just 20-30 mile motorway blasts.
Blade is suffering. Although I wash it every chance I get there's just sooo much salt down.

Yesterday I made the most of my recent shift changes. Been working in various covid test sites and been getting bounced between them a fair bit so I got togged up in my NHS gear and used the sites as waypoints. Down to Prestwick, up towards Glasgow Airport before cutting over to Hamilton. Then set off over to Edinburgh but met a huge nasty raincloud so turned back and headed home. Was always on a route between test centres so had a feasible lie(excuse) at all times. :)

Saw a nice repsol at the cat & fiddle today. About 12°C. However roads covered in rock salt . Heads up pub car park now has cameras if you don’t log your number into the pub iPad you might be receiving a fine. Saw a couple of bikes use the car park to u turn and camera flashed on their exit

The new owners of the Cat and Fiddle need to watch it with these sort of tactics!!! Majority of the people that go there are bikers and the rest of them in cars àre there to look at the bikes. Keeping the gate closed before opening times is stupid as well, it prevents us from getting off the road and into a safe area and is going to cause a problem. I've seen groups bunching up at the gate with no where to go .......and thats just the ones turning left into the car park. :(

Out yesterday but roads must have been gritted on Friday evening, out for 10 minutes (probably took me longer to get geared up)then spent 30 minutes washing the bike down, need rain to to clean the roads.

For info all the roads in Derbyshire are free of salt for anyone near here.
Apart from a couple of high roads near Buxton/Glossop/Snake Pass which were gritted last couple of days .

Bit of a mixed bag in the West Mids and seemingly a bit random. Some main roads look like they've not been touched and other little, out the way villages have swathes of it.

Managed to get out for about 30 miles yesterday and I'm walking like John Wayne today. Need to get bike fit and owning a couple of fairly comfortable Triumphs for the last couple of years must have softened me up. That, and the shit road surfaces and hard suspension.

The suspension is definitely next on the must do list.

Wish MCN would start a campaign to eradicate unnecessary gritting on our roads
