Thats the thing.....they don't disclose how much it will be extra. But if you read the small print at the bottom of the leathers you were looking at, it says "you may be liable for taxes and duties in destination country"

Yeah seen that. Just tried to use the .gov duty calculator. What a load of sh. You first need to fimd the niche catagory your goods fall under. No chance with something like leathers. Then depends if hand made....

Think it roughly works out to:

Price of item plus the cost of shipping.
    4% import tax,
    20% VAT,
Then courier charge for clearing customs on your behalf (normally around £12)

That is scandalous, so that puts an extra £132 on my £500 leathers. Now if my man maths serves me correctly that means i can now spend £632 on a suit and get the next model up. And get swifter delivery. Makes perfect sense

Gave the bike a wash and had to adjust the chain. It's only done 500 miles, hopefully this Regina chain isn't pies poor.

Today is a lucky day, my recent order from FC Moto which totals over £720 has just arrived and was waiting for me in the porch!!!

    NO CUSTOMS CHARGES!!!!!!!!!!:)

The second smaller parcel is a brake lever guard, also from German shop, MOTEA, which I very nearly cancelled.........NO CUSTOMS CHARGES!!!!!!:)

Very happy with this result!! I'd of took the charges on the chin to be fair as my calculations with charges applied still came out cheaper than Sportsbike shop!

    FC moto .......Danke Shoen!!!:D

They fit perfect to be fair, 2xl is my size in Ixon. This model though, Vendetta is a slightly more fitted fit. Proper race suit and the armour round the knees and elbows fit spot on. Hate loose armour In leathers. I do need to loose a few pounds though......not just for these, the rest of my wardrobe is getting a bit snug!

So the leathers worked out around £620 with a discount code for signing up to fc moto newsletter. I also bought some ixon Rs genius gloves to match for £106 so total spend £726, plus 11 quid postage......Still made up with no customs charges!!!:)

Always fancied trying the Ixon leathers over the other popular brands....problem is I’m so used to my Dainese Race Pro inner boots I’m not sure if I could go back to a normal over the top boot. Plus 3rd season with the Kangaroo leathers. It still amazes me on how much lighter and flexible they are over normal cowhide. Good looking suit that and a great colour combo Paul :D

I’m sure whoever the courier was they’ll be sending you a note asking if you’d mind paying the customs charge :D
