Came across this thread on Pistonheads the other day when idly browsing legendary Superbike paint/decal schemes: Best Honda paint schemes Would love to hear from the gang here as to your favorite bike colour/paint/decal setups, be they for road/race/Honda-or-not. I don't think much beats the original RC30 graphics that came to be the TT-Legends, legend: Please share the colours and bikes you love!!
Love that, but my absolute favourite Honda scheme is rothmans. Every. Day. favourite other manufacturers scheme has to be Suzuki’s Pepsi scheme and Yamaha’s boost scheme from back in the day!
I take it this was the bike that had the original Rothmans scheme? It's a shame that a lot of these paint schemes (IMO) often don't transfer well to other models - I guess the lines of the bike on which the scheme originated make it fit best - for example this scheme on a blade just doesn't do it justice at all I think.. or is it still great there in your opinion? Looks like we're cross posting.. you added those pics whilst I was writing the above. Love the Pepsi Suzuki. Proper old school cool that is.
Not for lack of trying, but I haven't been able to find anything I like that fits the 08 on blade better than the white with black go faster stripes... they just suit the shape and contours better than anything I can find, thus far..
Personally think the paint schemes from the 80s and 90s take some beating, they made bikes look fast just standing still, and before I’m downvoted I know I have a self interest here, but I just think the look better than a lot of the plain Jane stuff they are pumping out today.
Goddamn, it's THAT thing again. Christ on a Superbike that is as sexy as it gets - bikewise - IMO. Black, white & red, with a hint of retro, perfectly retrofitted to an ultra-modern machine. Un-fucking-believably good looking, that is.
Agree 100%. Actually had a little sex wee, again! I’ve tried to block this out as it always happens. Dream bike that along with a gen 1 red/white R1
