So i have myself a new bike for this year, and i'm yet to ride the thing! It's safe to say after over 2 months locked up (the bike, not me!) i'm going pretty mental not having had a go yet! Still, not long now, 4 weeks and i'll be out for a few days in Almeria, Spain, so can't wait for that! Anyway here is a few pics and spec of the bike. I'll keep this up to date as it's getting a couple of sets of fairings sprayed up as we speak, so will be able to get better pics when all built up again 2009 model Fireblade Engine - 2009 motor enginge work - FIM spec blueprinted motor @ M-Tec racing engine mods - HRC thin head gasket, New stock gearbox Engine protection - GB Racing engine covers Fueling - Power Commanfer 5 with Secondary Fuel Module Air filter - K&N race filter Exhaust system - Arrow full race titanium Forks - K-Tech 25mm forks with 9.5 springs Shock - Showa Factory race shock with 10.5 spring Quickshifter - HM (run as road pattern) Steering damper - GPR Rearsets - Padgetts Throttle - HRC Quick action Brakes - Stock calipers, Hel brakelines,Ten Kate captive rear brake caliper Brake pads - Brembo brake pads Z04 Chain - EK 520 Blue Sprockets - Renthal 15:43-47 Tyres - Metzeler Racetec Interact tyres Fairings - ANR race fairings with HRC tankcover & Dzus quick release fasteners Grips - Progrip 724 fuel cap - Harris QA fuel cap Lap timer - Starlane Athon RW GPS laptimer Misc -Stomp grips, Speedo healer to remove speed limiter, captive wheel spacers, Explosafe tank foam Red number board for superstock, old design though. Look Like HRP rearsets sold by Padgetts, made in the machine shop at Honda UK Racing by Uber CNC Genius Matt. Looks awesome Mate, its a tough job finding a tidy, genuine 08> at the minute. PS another fan here of the ANR bodywork, the 3 peice front fairing is a great idea, much easier to get to stuff without faffing about taking the whole lot off.
Definitely prefer 3 piece fairings yep! ANR is amazing stuff too. The right rearset is the black anodised Padgetts and yeah you're right about the left side lol.
Just had the OK to get my other sets of fairings up to be sprayed in the proper designs i'll be racing with, so gotta get up to Burnley this week with them and hopefully by Mid feb i should have them back all nice and orange! Need to give a big thanks to Bates Car and Commercials in Padiham for the help and support last year and this year, and for spraying the bike up!
Well it's all done now. It's actually wearing all black fairings at the moment though and on it's way to Spain on the back of a truck for a first ride! A couple of fairings to spray! Setting out some plans Primed Business end First layers of colour Tanky wank Bike built up in orange ready for masking Not quite done, still needs number board, screen, stickers/logos, seat foam
I don't have the money for them!! Plus i wouldn't race on carbon wheels, i've seen them shatter! Also, they're illegal in the class i race in! On that basis, would you say white wheels, or black wheels, because they're changing colour to one of them... I already have a set of black, so it's either spray the gold black, or both sets white.
Funny that, my first thoughts were white wheels would look cool, but then I thought it might look like an impersanation of marlbro, so changed my mind to black.
Black wheels, they will carry the colour on your lowers. Bike looks good. Are you racing at Snetterton anytime this season?
Hmmm, so i'll go with black thn, cheers chaps, you flipped my decision 100% lol, and i think you're right! I'll be at Snetterton sometime mate yeah, here are the dates. If you fancy popping down, drop us an email and i'll try to sort tickets Dates 2012
Well i'm nearly there! First race of the year on the weekend and i'm leaving on Wednesday to test on Thursday, so been busy getting it prepped. Got the stickers on the bike yesterday but not got it on the bike yet.
