Bought an OEM filter from their store a while back.
This arived in a proper honda box packaging and all looked good
Item put away till the next oil change.
Now I read some fake honda filters are being sold as OEM

Took mine out and checked the catual filter and it is not OEM!:mad:

I am confident that SBS has not advertised an OEM product and supply and substitue knowingly.

I have email them with this shocking news and now waiting for their reply

check the parts you receive carefully. SBS or any other supplier

SBS has been very good and offered a refund as all of there honda "OEM" filters are purflux made in france
So has Honda have switched suppliers and why
I expected the element to have at least a honda label on it!

I know this is a late response, but most OEM Honda filters have been Purflux and Made in France for as long as I can remember, occasionally I’ve noticed one will be made in USA.
Picked up 2 filters from my local Honda dealer this week, both Purflux items & French in Honda retail packaging.

So what this boils down into, was Sportsbikeshop giving you a full refund for getting the filter that you should have got.

God damn their customer service blows me away every time.

    looks that way!!
Started after I read about fake honda filter getting into reputable suppliers stocks. Checked mine and so no part number on the filter only puraflex + honda label.

They could have looked into it themselves and come to the same findings as I subsequently did.

Guess it was too small a change to bother and I tend to spend good money with them.

    Yes excellent CS
