That was a waste of a fucking day. Rear paddock stand bobbin holder thing must have failed/shifted dropping my bike to the floor breaking the brake lever, brake guard and frame protector. Long way to drive for nothing but shit happens I guess.

The paddock stands will go in the bin. They're generic jobs that I've been using regularly for some 20 years I think. I don't really know what happened as I located the hooks in the bobbins as usual and it felt secure until halfway through the lift and there was a bang and the bike was on the floor. The bobbin is still in place so the hook must have slipped somehow. Ordered some oxford heavy duty stands that look a lot better.

The brake guard snapped and pushed the bar end in the bar and bent the screw. Have enough spare parts for another and ordered another cheap set off ebay. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot on these.

The brake lever was OEM and just sheared off not leaving enough to operate the brake. I've ordered some TWM folding levers from BDS.

The frame protector mount snapped which was really crap. I didn't fit these but really unimpressed. They're obviously getting binned and replaced with R&G sliders that need the fairing cut but bolt straight to the frame.

Really fed up as wanted to try out the lower gearing and the quickshift but the next one is in 4 weeks so not too long to wait.

oh feck, that's the last thing you need. I guess there was no way to bodge one on to get out then.
It's a bloody stupid rule though that they won't let you out without one.

Ahh mate, that's shit! Not fancy a Harris paddock stand? They're meant to be about as good as they get.

I could have bodged the guard probably but couldn't bodge the brake lever or find a spare.

I've ordered some oxford heavy duty stands and they'll be here tomorrow so I'm hoping that they'll be more robust.

To be fair to these, they've lasted about 20 years.

Ooft, that sucks! I've not seen any paddock stand with round pegs like that, probably slipped around on the screws holding them in place? All the ones I've used have square pegs to not slip around.

There aren't any screws holding them in place, they rotate as the bike lifts. Anyway, the new ones have arrived and the look a lot stronger. To be on the safe side I've bought some oxford bobbins to match the new stands.

My new frame sliders have arrived and they look pretty good (R&G). I'll get the hole cutters out and fit them next week ready for the next track day on the 19th July.

The new TWM levers arrived the next day too and look great. I've never spent 150 on levers before which seems a lot but it they fold rather than break I guess that's worth it. The do look nice.
